Howdy everyone. Is it correct I can go with the non-cip accurate mag AICS mag for the 7prc? Planning on using a krg bravo (for now) and it looks like I’ll simply need to use the spacer. The mag I’m looking at is 3.715 oal and 3.615 coal which is still plenty for the 7prc at 3.34 coal. Thanks for any feedback.

the standard length 3.715 magazines allow plenty of room for the 7 PRC. This is a photo a buddy texted me of his with a factory precision hunter 175eldx load.

In building a 7-300 PRC can you use the same magnum long action and magazines for 7 PRC, 300 PRC and 7-300 PRC in the same rifle and just swap out the barrel? The 7mm PRC's action requires a 0.535" long action magnum bolt face, will that work with the 300 PRC and 7-300 PRC? I ask because I'd like to build a rifle that can fire different cartridges with just a barrel swap in a XLR 4.0 magnesium chassis.

resurrecting this thread for the 7 PRC mag issue, since this cartridge is becoming VERY popular

I have a Defiance ANTIx in an XLR Element 4.0 magnesium chassis and I first ordered Hawkins precision magazines, long action 3.850 Magnum/28 Nosler/300 PRC. Mistake. No-go for 7PRC, rounds are too short and they nosedive bad.

Called XLR. They have Accurate magazines make steel ones for them and there are two they have for 7PRC, one for rem 700 one for Tikka. I got them a 3 and a 5-round. The spring in the 3-round is VERY tight, and it gouges the brass pretty bad. Also, the mag is pretty long for the 7PRC, and it had me thinking I should have gotten an industry standard medium action (Lone Peak medium). The round has almost .25" of space in these mags. Just doesn't look right but feeds OK w/o modification.

Today I received the MDT 3-round 7PRC specific magazines, and it's a PERFECT fit, spring not too tight, polymer so no gouging, and most importantly, less than 1/2 the weight of the accurate mags.

Kinda makes me wonder if I shouldn't have gone with the MDT chassis, but I was concerned about the fore-end and didn't want to take it apart for action swaps.

I also wonder about my long action choice, but I wanted versatility for future builds. Part of the reason I avoided titanium

Sorry for being tangential and going off topic a little

My 7PRC is built on a Kelbly Atlas in a KRG Bravo Gen 2. It runs perfectly with 300 RUM mags. I have “short magnum” magazines for my 6.5 PRC and they don’t work with the 7 PRC.

I use the Accurate Mag CIP length 300 Rum mags with my 7 PRC in a XLR Element 4.0 chassis without any issues. I am also using the ARC CDG long action. I have used this setup hunting without issues.
