Tac Ops Rifles

Tacops itch has gotten totally unbearable. I'm wanting to get either a Sierra or a Lima series rifle. I emailed for a quote this morning but to impatient to wait. Can someone PM a rough estimate on prices? I know they are not cheap and are at a higher level price wise.

Mike, I received my new Tac Ops Delta 51.

I wanted you to know how much I appreciate you and you sharing your world class talent with me. Like others, I paid my hard earned money for my Tac Ops, but I completely forgot about the price when I held this functional artful masterpiece. I wanted a smaller, old school Tac Ops rifle, and that's exactly what you delivered, in spades, I might add. Lastly, thanks for your patience, kindness and your 100% positive attitude during this entire journey. You are the best.

Respectfully,

J Scott

These could be scam ads......I mean the poster's name is Tom Foolery and they have no transactions! I'm looking for a lightly used Delta or X-Ray, but wasn't expecting to see two posted on Gunbroker. The post definitely show two different rifles...both show lots of wear.

I believe those are police guns and that seller has had them up before.

This is really, really real. Same experience here.

Here's the thing...

As a buyer I thought about the price. As an owner it doesn't matter. They are awesome rifles. I take some pride in owning them. I love shooting them. They "spark joy" if you like.

Those are old shot out rifles from a Sheriff's SWAT Team out of Cali decided to go with a different platform after about 24 years. I just received a Tango 51 that they had been deploying from a very famous gentleman that bought his dirt cheap as you could if you win the bid like he did. The Tango's are very old and the Delta's I'd have to check the books to see when we made them. When I received them, I was a little taken back as to the care of them it seems some SWAT OPS don't take care of their STUFF very well. I've seen that happen with other departments teams and the OP would get removed and rolled the FK Up.

It's not a scamm add but I would not purchase those if I were you...

Thanks for this. I've been watching these two and even contacted the seller, but haven't heard back from them. I was also a little taken aback at the condition they were in, but seemed like good prices especially with the cans, but I'll pass on them and keep an eye out elsewhere.

The seller can't even post the correct barrel length for the rifle so I wouldn't sweat the fact they haven't replied to your inquiry.

I’m looking for a little help / insight on choosing between an X-Ray, Delta, and Tango. My primary uses will be hunting from shooting houses and general target shooting. I’ve been leaning towards one of the first two because of the vertical grips and adjustable stocks, but there are two Tangos in the PX now and I don’t want to walk past one of those if I’m over thinking it. I’m 6’ 230#, average height, average build. I know it’s mostly personal preference but I’m opening Pandora’s box and asking for opinions. I don’t have access or experience with either of the three stocks to fondle them for myself. Thanks in advance!

Tango with 18” barrel would be easier to move around the shooting house. I just received mine a month ago or so. I also have a delta, but honestly kinda like that tango alittle better

For Jwright74,

I’ll take a stab at this having owned and shot all 3.

If you are primarily hunting, carrying rifle and expect to do a lot of offhand shooting, the tango may be a good option. It’s small and handy with a medium size beaver tail forend. Or if you like the feel of a classic stock. But, let’s be honest, that stock is out dated by current designs.

If you are mainly doing target shooting and placing gun on bags or tripods and don’t mind a large stock that is more to handle, go x-ray. It will feel the largest and has a large beaver tail.

The delta is basically a stock that fits between the two. Vertical grip with no beaver tail. Easy to handle and transport. Good form factor. I would suggest this.

With that said, call Mike and talk with him. Tell him your requirements / usages, and he will steer you in the right direction.

Thought I had seen some with thumbhole stocks, Cool, just wanted to know if I would still be alive when it shipped, Been in some long lines.
It was a one time collab

@Jwright74 - another vote for Delta supremacy as an all around gun.

In retrospect, I don't think I needed the adjustable stock. The McMillan A3 boasts about the smallest drop you can find in a traditional straight comb - with Mike's stock pack, you're already level with the bore and you can build that up. I only mention that in case you think the ~.5 lb of hardware and the adjustment wheel on the stock would be an issue for you.

Mike sent me a sneak preview... will post full centerfold shoot in a few days. Advised my FFL that to prevent biohazard and possible shutdown by health dept any employee opening packages from Tac Ops Beverly Hills should wear XL condom. They have been warned!
