Time pieces/Watches?

Sirhr, I have one almost just like that. I never wear it, becuse we had to take a broken link out of the bracelet, and now its too small for my fat self. Have lost 20lbs in the last few weeks, so hoping i may be able to wear it soon. Also, your attitude is terrible, and you have a pottie mouth. Lol!
Should go post this in the hope thread

All that work of losing weight and when people comment “You look like a million bucks” you won’t know if it’s your new abs or the watch……

Replacement links are easy to get, maybe PM Sirhr for his guy’s details. Best place for it is on your wrist! 5 digit Subs are just the ducks nuts ! Only things I like better about the 6 digits are the Glidelock, and better power reserve.
Form - function of the 5 digit models is a lesson in perfect evolutionary design.

Today is a good sub day... bought new in 1989 or so. Better than my 401K....

That said, sent in for Rolex service and the motherfuckers replaced my hands with brand new... and so the whole gorgeous patina is gone. And now they look all wrong. So sending to Terry to refit 'old' hands. I can't tell you how pissed I am at Rolex for replacing my original hands. NO.... they didn't light up like they did in 1989. But they had perfect aging and those 'hands' had been around the world with me. Fucking Rolex service SUCKS!

Terry has a set of hands for me that will 'match' the originals. But Rolex can suck my fucking wankie for their unforgiveable bullshit policy of 'restoring to new' with utter disdain for historical importance.

Cheers,

Sirhr

PS. I don't bother to set the date any more. I mostly know what day of the month it is. And when I don't... I don't give a flying fuck!
What blows me away is that a compamy like Rolex, with so much "Storied" history behind them, wouldn't have contacted you before doing that. Smells more like a bit of arrogance than ignorance.

I have a local guy to service my Day/Date. He's very good/thorough, but slower than molasses in January.

I only have the Day/Date (18238) and am quite happy with it. If I were to buy another/more, it/they'd probably be a Sub and an older Air King.

Don't know if I got a Romex or a real Rolex yet. Threw a 100 bid on a Submariner in a local estate auction. I figured I'd get outbid. Got it for 81.

Based on the Mercedes hand and the case that looks like plating coming off a cheap metal case… you may have gotten a Rorex.

BUT… it could be the steal of the decade! Keep us informed!!

I picked it up. It runs which is more than I was anticipating. To my eyesight without magnification the case damage looks more like corrosion than flaking plating and a couple chunks of the case edge knocked out.

Plan on stopping by a dealer after work next week and getting a determination Rolex or Romex.

Stopped by a Rolex authorized sales center. It's a Romex. Exhibition back was never sold with this model.

So about a year ago, a buddy turned me on to RGM watches... one of the few American Brands that are making their own complete movements. Based out of York PA area. Got a chance to snag one and made an epic road trip today to PA and back to pick up this gem.

I am definitely going to make the trip to the factory at some point... and I expect this will not be my last RGM.

I love American Watches. Resco, Sangin, Kobold (the owner sucks, the OG watches are cool!). And RGM is just at an amazing level of workmanship. Right here in USA.

Heck of a road trip today... but worth it!!!

Pretty sure that's a 455 chrono? Very cool.

My collection continues to grow, for some reason. I started with an Omega Seamaster 300 titanium (2232.80.00) made in 1999 which I love. I basically had it completely reworked (new band, new bezel, checked out and pressure tested), so it has cost me double what it went for new. I have a few buddies that have now gotten me into another expensive hobby.

@atomic Is the middle one an H Moser Pioneer? How does it wear, lI ike larger watches and been eying this one at 43mm.
You sir have an eagle eye. It is indeed a H. Moser & Cie Pioneer 40mm. It wears like a dream, it just fits (me at least) perfectly. The lugs have a beautiful curve underneath and it just wraps round the wrist. The rubber strip is really nice, for me it's better feeling strap than the one on my Patek Aquanaut but that being said I dont have much experience with rubber straps. The fit an finish are excellent, being equal to some more expensive pieces.
