Nother harricane comin

Huh?…JFC…
Didn't mean to be rude- and granted my humor is one of the few things darker than my coffee and not understood by most but to my point...

This was posted here in this thread of the hurricane which is a preamble of destruction to come...

And anyone that's ever "owned" a cat, this is likely the last thing that they saw while they were "watching them" before they went bat shit crazy and started destroying everything that the "owner" held dear...

Woke up to this.

The only cleanup we'll have to do is to rake the front yard and take the blower to the sidewalk and driveway. We're lucky.

A buddy that lives on the Manatee River sent these this morning.
First thing he said to me was "Dude, storm surge is real."

His neighbors boat house. Dock is completely covered.

His boat seemingly floating in thin air.

Both together.

This was what he woke up to. He said the boat was bobbing up and down on his davit during the night.

Mine too, way out in AZ.

You think they would at least mail me a gallon of water. Lord knows we could use it.
Too salty, would not be worth anything to you anyway.

@GreenGO Juan, we just left Valpariaso yesterday. Our son has to be in Texas today so he spent the night with us in North Louisiana last night. Checked out Element Tuesday. Seems ok but we really need a family membership. We all shoot at Altus and Emerald shooting in Valparaiso.

Lost our boat at Ft. Walton to Sally when we thought it would be safe. Otherwise I would probably be there still.

Winds here in the ne coast if fl were pretty rough during the night but nothing major.
Saw some videos this morning from steinhatchee
Seahag made it through pretty good. Water up on the second floor. Roys restaurant is gone, looking like the new marina next to roys collapsed down on itself as well.
My neighborhood lost power bout 11:30. Back on about 4:30 this morning
My inlaws about an hour ssw from me are out of power but no major damage in their area either.
They are about 60-70 miles from where it made landfall

About 4.2 million homes and businesses across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic are now without power, according to PowerOutages.us. Here are the number of electric customer outages state-by-state as of 9 a.m. ET:

-South Carolina, 1,366,173

-Florida, 1,140,519

-Georgia, 1,078,445

-North Carolina, 614,120

-Virginia, 43,389

Cape San Blas and Port St. Joe got minimal storm surge, and the flooding was mostly from rain. No wind or water damage whatsoever, and the water did not even reach below the house. I'm guessing a storm surge of under 10'. Anyone heard anything about Apalachicola? The Pan Handle got spared this time being in the navigable semi-circle, and the worst winds were coming in from the East over land; unlike Michael where we were in the unnavigable semi-circle and got pummeled.

I have been out to Element and Emerald in VP but never made my way up to Altus but hear nothing but good things. Sorry to hear about the boat.

I don't get it. Appears to be deep water with no waves breaking over shoal water. Seas indicate about 20+kts of wind, a little rough (Beufort 5-6?), but nothing crazy or scary. Rigging in-tact/boat not knocked down. Sails are furled, but appear to be intact (jib roller furled from cockpit). Boat riding normal; appears to not to be flooding judging from the freeboard when he abandons ship. What was the emergency? Why not pay out the jib to storm config and make way into the seas? Steering out? Medical emergency? Must be something you just can't tell from the video. Looks like he may have just panicked.

Unless things have taken a turn, Altus is a decent. When I left they had a few very good instructors. Shot a few handgun matches at Element. They had more to offer hangunners. Think they were called Southern Tac back then. There is a newer range since I left over De Funiak Springs way. It's referred to as "The Farm," but the official name is different. ??

Is Emerald an indoor range? I don't remember that one.

That’s a lot of people without power. Don’t worry. We’ll send all the Centerpoint peeps we can spare. They’ll get you back up and running in a couple of months…

Never heard of an aqua fence! Looks like it worked pretty good for the hospital! I’m curious how the bottom seals

Nothing real funny guys. Lots of people are about to be financially ruined and or dead from this MF’r

We already have flooding in the Ft Myers Cape Coral Florida areas The barrier islands can’t respond to rescue calls. This in the area it passed by 150 miles away so when it hits it will probably be worse than Ian
We get hurricanes a lot and have parties during them, and joke about them every time.

Don’t be a soft fag.

Yes its a small in door. Not aware of a new one around DeFuniak.

I don't know just ran across the video. I am just glad they saved the dog.

But if I had to guess maybe he lived on the boat which was not sea worthy and kept it anchored in a bay or harbor and got pushed out into the open ocean??? I know a guy that lives on a boat in the sound like that, engine doesn't run, rigging is no good.

Two years of rebuilding after my house took a direct hit from Ian Tons of money, spending every waking moment doing all that work “ 300k of damage”seeing the body bags removed of neighbors . Watching all the lives destroyed, kinda took the funny out of big hurricanes to me

Knowing what this one would do did not help

I am neither soft or a fag but I do feel for the people getting fucked

I don’t know maybe thirty years of duty honor and country is something you don’t understand
Maybe when your balls drop
That last part sounds real gay and doesn’t have fuck all to do with the rest. Almost felt bad for you until that bullshit

Been through a bunch of them the whole gulf coast has been fucked time and time again, man up or move. I’ve had people murdered in front of me, people I know die at my feet, families screaming at me doing CPR and I don’t belly ache about it.

I am interested in the range at Defuniak Springs.

As far as Emerald Coast. Our son shoots there quite often. What’s left of my hearing makes me somewhat allergic to indoor shooting ranges, where I lost the last bit of hearing I had.

Found this and this range went from Civilian and Military to Military only

Found another group, at Gaskin, up close to Alabama.

Nothing about “the Farm” where they do training

then there’s always “Bullets and Bones”. 300 yards but small range.

I wear muffs and plugs as my eardrums are ruptured, it makes a big difference.

My apologies short fuse. Was up all night trying to keep water at bay. Only lost my well pump and they are installing new one tomorrow for3k. Good news is someone can buy a gun or two for discount price on hide tomorrow when I post in am

At least I only lose water for two days. Ian cost me no power for fifteen days and no cell or bet service for four months
