I’m looking for a powder that will yield the fastest velocity while being least affected by temperature swings.
H4895 for sure. Gets 90s to 2850 easily in my 223. Probably won’t find much of it at this point though.
StaBall Match is temperature stable (for a ball powder) and right in the burn rate you are looking for.
My cabinet. Hahaha... but my LGS has 8lb jugs also. It's not cheap but it's on the shelf
ARC has been consistently excellent for me in 6.5 Grendel over multiple platforms from 18-24”. Accuracy, temp stability, low SD’s in all varieties of TX weather. Seems to be getting more available, but still very pricey.
It's not listed in the load data but I bet Benchmark powder would work too, not sure on "fastest velocity" though.
"Thanks for the info. I settled on 25.3 Benchmark with a 105 Barnes and it worked well. I really like the ARC, but it is a little finicky to load for just because you have so little case volume and are limited on which powders work. But as you said, benchmark works well and so does Lever R"
