Geissele Heavy Barrels. (Update 28OCT24)

Has anyone had any time behind these new heavy profile Geissele barrel??

I just picked one up from Primary Arms with thier Halloween sale. They look to be the same profile as the barrels I custom order. Only thing I would have done differently is 5/8x24 threads and a intermediate gas length.

I'm kicking around the idea of ordering one this weekend. If I do, it will be a while before I shoot it, if you get some Trigger Time with one, please post a range report!

That's an ounce lighter than Noveske's 14.5" super-lightweight "Skinny" profile.

I hope it is the latter.

For the record, I have accuracy tested only one Geissele HFCL barrel. I hope they're all this good.

I spotted that before I ordered, called Geissele and yes it's a typo. Barrel weight is 2.6lbs

Once I received the barrel I'll throw it on a scale and actually get a precise weight for it. when I talked to the guys at Geissele apparently these barrels are so new they don't know much about them.

Interesting enough it says that it's an H-Bar but it's definitely not a H-Bar contour.

Superior to the H-BAR contour, IMO.

Looks like the original Noveske SS "artillery" profile from 20+ years ago.

I'm bouncing back and forth between that Builder kit, or buying an LMT MRP and sending one of these barrels off to D Wilson for LMT conversion

I just got a 14.5 installed in a broadsword receiver set and it shoots very well. I'm 100ish rnds in and it consistently shoots 1/2-3/4" @ 100 with a 1-8 NX8.

I would build the SOLGW over the LMT anytime and have had both. Still own the SOLGW…
