A good instance of "potentially good" medicine is the use of certain blood pressure drugs and even Type 2 Diabetic drugs to slow kidney disease (I've searched this a LOT thanks to having a father and his idential twin with kidney issues that effectively killed them in the end). So, some pharmaceuticals actually are doing their job; but too much of it has becom boutique level shit made for people who don't want to treat their body with respect.
