Advice/knowledge on actions.

I like the older Remington stainless actions and have found some for sale at a good price. Honestly I prefer the ones I have to the ARC CdG I just sold. Nothing wrong with the CdG but the stainless Remy just appeals to me, seems a bit smoother. YMMV.

I'm looking to build a 7 PRC or maybe a 300 PRC. The actions are either Long Action/Magnum or 30-06. The LA is back ordered but the 3006 is in stock. would either, or both work?

The PRC’s all use .530/magnum bolt faces. The 30-06 will only work if you have the bolt face enlarged.

3006 is a long action, but it’s .470 bolt face and not a .540 magnum bolt face.
If you want a prc then you should get one with the .540 bolt face.

Thats what I needed to know, thanks, but is it .530 or .540? Simple minds want to know. LOL

Doesn't matter. The cartridges are around .530 and the bolt face will be slightly larger.
