Wolves don’t run across people in camo or in blinds everyday either
Especially that far north in WI. There ain’t a lot up that way
I'm not sure the laws in WI but it doesn't really harm anything for people to know there's some aggressive wolves in the area

About a 1,000 wolves in Wisconsin. I also bet that they get some bleed off from MN's 2,700 population as well. I was harassed by a group of wolves going out to my tree stand opening morning 2006. Northern MN on Potlach paper Company land. Followed me the last half of my trek. Howling and baying back and forth in front and behind me even once on stand. Happy to get into my perch.
Cougars are what freaks me out, and fucking hogs lol. I got blindsided by a 200lb pig, I got the last laugh with pork steaks.

Lions too. I don’t like it when our lazy worthless house cats get uppity. Something 10x their size and attitude is fucking horrifying. Especially knowing that the CO front range around Denver has so many lions. And even more especially since ones like this exist. This guy is 6’4” and weighs 250lbs…

What is normal behavior? I know for certain that "normal" behavior in the past was for people to kill them so they would almost always run, just like every other animal. I also know that when animals are not hunted, like in Estes Park etc the animals don't run and that is "normal." Are these wolves being hunted? If not, this is going to be "normal."
You hit on the problem at least in MN. Wolves are protected and not hunted. To my understanding, they are responsible for the reduction and almost extinction of Moose and Elk in MN. They should be hunted.

I camped a lot in Alaska/canada area. Summer months. The wolves never bothered me. The howls are unnerving as hell granted. I guess it all depends. Had more trouble with mountain lions in the Sierra Nevadas.
MN DNR has fucked up everything they've touched for 80 years. Fitting, as MN is generally under Blue oppression because everybody that lives in the metro areas are commies. A national embarrassment.
They should be managed, not just hunted
Yeah, I can tell you that number is COMPLETE horseshit. We see them constantly, tracks everywhere. Even in the south-central parts of the state, they are now present. Honestly, it’s probably more like 5,000, but I wouldn’t say 10,000 is an unreasonable estimate. Just look at how fast the hunters blew the quota during the last legal wolf hunt, it was like less than 3 days for 216 wolves. No way hunters eliminated a quarter of the entire population in 3 days, that’s just garbage.
FWC (FL) is likewise superb at fucking everything up. they do get a lot of help here from the feds. their corruption is also a factor.
One year of wolves in CO and they already reduced the number of elk tags in those units because of "high winter kill rates." Something I haven't seen in my 40years of hunting CO. Wait till they start finding all the retarded elk in Estes Park.
The size of those paws and arms...bigger than Mr. Wolfe's. HUGE....you don't stand a chance against that stalker. As bad as wolves, bear, and razorbacks/wild boar are on my 'scary' list, nothing freaks me out like the potential for being stalked by a mountain lion or just being jumped (like from a tree).

Friend killed one on a bear hunt in northern Canada.
More than likely it drug it off and ate it. I have head of them doing it and have witnessed coyotes doing it.
