I have a bunch of low back pressure cans (including a range of OSS-HUX and a CAT ODB) as well as a few higher back pressure ones (Surefire and DA).
While the latter have a place, the low pressure cans have been--to borrow your category--game changers.
I shoot long gun lefty and am relatively gas sensitive, and there is dramatically less stuff coming out the ejection port only my face with the flow throughs. Prior to the first one, I only really shoot suppressed for the cool factor, or an indoor class. It was just so unpleasant.
This is also true with the 9mm low back pressure cans I have, though even on non-gas blowback uppers, I do get a bit of particulate.
