You guys into low backpressure cans?

Do you have/like low backpressure suppressors?

This is my first true low backpressure can, and I have to say that I’m very impressed. Backpressure is non-existent, sound is great, and it’s in another league compared to other lower backpressure cans that I have, like the Recce 5K and Anechoic.

Which if any do you have, and what do you think?

I have 2 from Hux/Oss - a 7.62 Ti and a 7.62 ventum - they are awesome on my gas guns that don't have a adjustable gas block - the ventum on my 6.5 obr upper only shifts poi by .1 mil and doesn't open up the groups.
I definitely need to get some time on the Hux stuff.

I have a bunch of low back pressure cans (including a range of OSS-HUX and a CAT ODB) as well as a few higher back pressure ones (Surefire and DA).

While the latter have a place, the low pressure cans have been--to borrow your category--game changers.

I shoot long gun lefty and am relatively gas sensitive, and there is dramatically less stuff coming out the ejection port only my face with the flow throughs. Prior to the first one, I only really shoot suppressed for the cool factor, or an indoor class. It was just so unpleasant.

This is also true with the 9mm low back pressure cans I have, though even on non-gas blowback uppers, I do get a bit of particulate.

How do you like your CAT? I just ordered the CAT DD

Recently picked up a KAC QDC/CRS-PRT in 5.56 to mount on my 14.5” Mod 2. I bought it because I wanted a Knight’s can on my Knight’s gun more than I was looking for a high flow suppressor.

I am pretty satisfied with it. The gas out the ejection port is minimal, at the expense of lower performance in sound reduction.

Everything is a compromise.

For me, my Surefire SOCOM 762 and 556 cans are the sweet spot for sound reduction and gas blowback. My next centerfire rifle can will probably be another SureFire.

RC3?

Just to jump in, the RC2 is a reduced backpressure design versus traditional suppressors. I like all of the low backpressure cans I have tried or that we use to an extent versus traditional suppressors. To me, they are kind of a use case. On gas guns that get shot with high volume or are shot rapidly I prefer heavier cans made of inconel. In no particular order we have had good look with CGS, Surefire, KAC, Hux, SiCo, really all of them. Hell we have Yankee Hill cans with 50k rounds on them that are still chugging along.

I am not terribly experienced with bolt action rifles so no recommendations there. For gas guns, I use to mess around with adjustable gas blocks and or bcgs. I was effectively adding a level of complication to the gun and increasing the chance of failure. For us, using the flow through cans mitigate the big gripr (gas to the face and lungs) without making the gun more complicated or less reliable.

Yes, but so far Ive limited it--it's the 718 version--to a 8" 300 blk shooting mostly subs--clearly overkill. It cycles most of the subs Ive used, though doesn't lock back on some. It sounds great with them.

I want to try it on other gas guns but most of them have a HUXWRX mount and the blast/ initial chamber of the CAT is too short for the HUX HUB adaptor; its "cage" needs to be removed and I haven't done that yet.

My experience with the RC2 was good (from a performance POV, customer service) but there were a few post indoor classes/ range sessions where I was washing a lot of stuff off my face. For me, I'll take tradeoffs for the flowthrough options.

I do have a 300 sps on a bolt set up and it's very good.

I have an LMT MWS and tried every option to get it to function properly with match ammo and a can.
I tried Slash's heavy buffer but it added significant recoil and didn't fix the issue.
I chopped a 20" barrel with rifle gas to 16", that helped a little but no fix.
I tried a BRT gas tube, it made a little difference but I still had FTF with match ammo and a can.
I tried an adjustable gas block but it still wasn't enough to get the system functioning without messing with it for both loads.
Finally, I got a Hux Flow 762 and the gun performs perfectly. It also tightened up my groups a little bit.
For my rifle, it has been a gamechanger.

Nice! Glad to hear it fixed your problem.
