They are the worst one to deal with from a practitioner standpoint, next would be Delta. They both suck and force practitoners to eat all kinds of loss/discount if they want to do the best for their patients. It is different state to state in many cases though and your UHC is way better than ours.
If a guy wanted to throw people off the trail, writing that on the casings would be any excellent way of doing it. What I want to know is how the shooter knew the guy was staying where he was. Presumably the victim flew in on a private jet. The guy knew there was a shareholder meeting, so if he knew the corporate jet tail numbers, he could track those, maybe. With that in mind, he could get eyes on the guy when he landed and follow him to his hotel. Not as easy as one might think in a giant city. After the victim has made it to his hotel, did the shooter just camp out and wait for him. Again, tough for a single guy to do.
I think a more likely scenario is that this was a state or big corporate sponsored hit, with the intel and surveillance to back it up.

It’s interesting that it appears as if the cartridge separated when he was clearing one of the malfunctions. The bullet appears unfired. I’ve had this happen in a rifle when I’ve accidentally loaded something too long and had to mortar the rifle…however I haven’t had that issue in a pistol before. I guess it’s possible though? Maybe a squib? Thoughts anyone?

It looks awfully shiny but agree this is pure speculation. However wouldn’t you expect the bullet to be smashed up or deformed at least if it was fired?
I would if it hit something hard. No telling what happened to that particular bullet. He fired several times.
The bullets in my photo are not deformed, but they did not hit concrete or anything like that. They came from an underwater firing test into a wooden board, LOL - amazing what you can find searching the internet.
I've had that happen in a pistol , but only ww2with blaser 9mm , the non brass blaser 's and iirc at least one brass blaser , it's like they didn't crimp the bullet enough and was pulled out by recoil or something , haven't bought any of the non brass blaser ammo for years , like around 15- 20 , so maybe they've fixed the problem.

If I was the group of potential co-defendants in an insider-trading investigation, especially facing a new DOJ coming in January, now would be a great time to shed some liabilities.
Find a relative of a patient who was denied services by the company, provide a target packet to that individual, and then offer them protection or financial incentives in case anything happened.
Would make a great plot for a movie, where the conspirators offer the shooter the services for the family member affected after all, and get rid of their weak link in the insider trading probe at the same time.
It makes me really wonder how wide the scope is for the insider-trading scheme, and who is implicated.

I think people are ascribing a level of competence to this (professional hitman) that is not required to pull off something like this.

The words on the cases could also have been put on there to throw suspicions in a different direction.

My gut says he's gone and they will pin on somebody else.
Or, he just happens to work (or know someone who works) at the hotel, and took the opportunity to strike in the morning. I read he waited around for a bit, don't recall how long. He could have just known what time the POS was getting his "wake up call" from the hotel, and decided to wait for him to cross the street.

At one point, I worked for a company called Vmware. Vmware’s ensure was United healthcare. We submitted a bunch of claims related to ABA therapy for my autistic child. They denied the claims out of hand. I talked to a lady on the phone and told her that the law in my state requires that they actually cover that kind of therapy… And I was curious how they were going to handle not being in compliance with the law. She told me it wasn’t covered, and that was all there was to it. I knew that this was incorrect, so I posted a message on the internal VMware HR related support site and was amazed to have a person three levels above my boss’ position respond saying “ I’ve reached out to United healthcare, we are self insured, they’re going to call you and tell you that it’s all being paid and it is covered.” I then got messages from each of the people under him in the chain of command, including my boss. I then got a telephone call from United healthcare and the exact same lady I spoke with previously. “ it seems that we made a mistake and that your claims are all covered and will be paid immediately.” “ That’s nice to hear, thank you. So you were wrong and for some reason, just decided to deny it because you wanted to just deny it… Is that not correct?” “ is there anything else I can help you with? (wouldn’t answer the question)” “ I’m contemplating suing you so I would like your full name.” (-click- she hung up…)
