I only had a partial box of the eldx that I loaded to get started while waiting on the 108eldm to arrive. I figured the load data would be pretty close and the velocities as well but that isn't the case. Naturally I would expect the heavier bullet to give up some initial velocity but, based on the info from Hodgdon, it seems the 108eldm is gonna be quite a bit slower.
Maybe someone could shed some light on why the starting/max loads for Varget are so different for these two bullets. Here is the info from the data center: 103eldx (starting 32.7gr, max 36.6gr) and the 108eldm (starting 29.8gr, max 33.1gr).
What is everyone else seeing in their rifles?
