I’m looking to buy an upper with a rail and the guy that just joined last Thursday gave me his friends email saying that he had what I was looking for.
My gut thinks it sounds sketchy but I wanted to ask here first to see if it sounds fishy to you guys too?

I just had the same thing happen to me this morning. Glad I searched here after. I tried twice to use the “friends” PayPal email address. I wouldn’t go through at all. I’ve never had that issue. They said we could use Zelle, Venmo or cash app.
If you search for his handle, he's been selling stuff here since 2021 or so.....are you sure...really sure...that its not bigCOuntree with some small and easily overlooked change like a period included at the in the handle by a scam account. Quite common lately. What email did that person provide?

I am 100% legit, been here for years. Unfortunately there is a scammer with a name that is close to mine. You have to pay very close attention to peoples names. I have almost been scammed several times by guys who have similar names to real members. @suski - may want to go back and edit your post. You got taken by the scammers with minor changes to existing member handles and may want to clean up a bit and not tarnish a very good and legit seller. Just saying
Who is the best moderator to report scam accounts to? I commented on a BST post and have been hit up by two other accounts claiming to be OP offering to sell the product to me. I shot an email to the “contact us” email, but if there is a Mod here I can forward all the info I have.
It’s not the post itself, the actual post is fine and I’ve alerted the OP. Other people are messaging me directly, is there a report in the DMs section?
There is a "report" button in the pm. Bottom left of the message, least ways from the system I'm on ATM. A pad, not a pc or phone.
Not really fraud, but sort of. Wasn't sure where to put this though. For those of you who sell firearms on here in the PX and ship them as an individual, beware of Sendero Shooting Sports in Belton, TX. Myself and another Hide member who I sold a rifle to both contacted Sendero to confirm they would do an individual to individual transfer. They told us they accepted firearm shipments from individuals and to include a copy of my DL and the information of the person who purchased the gun so they could contact them for the 4473 transfer. I shipped the firearm via USPS because they are the only carrier who will allow non-FFL holders to ship firearms. It was properly packaged and insured per USPS regulations. Cost me $300 to ship it. Well they refused the shipment and it was returned to me. I called them and was told that the person I talked to, Glenn, was mistaken and that it is their policy to only accept firearm shipments from other FFLs and not individuals so they refused the shipment. I told the guy that I was out $300, but all he could do is tell me that Glenn had done this before and that he would talk to him about it. I started to circle back to what to do about the $300 their employee cost me, and they hung up on me. Bad way to do business and zero willingness to try to help or offer a solution. I now have to spend another $300 to ship it to another FFL nearby that will accept the firearm. If there is a better place to put this on here, let me know, I just wanted y'all to be aware of these shenanigans. Also, I tried to use my FFL to ship the rifle, but UPS would only let them insure it for $2000, but I needed $4000 insurance on it, so I had to use USPS.

Yes I have. I may do this. Reason I didn’t was I have to drive an hour to get to the closest UPS place that accepts firearms and I didn’t have time to do it. Regular UPS places don’t. It’s around $100 though insured.
BryanW M sent me a PM regarding an NX8 in the PX, however he is not the user who created the thread. The OP has plenty of feedback. I posted in the for sale thread asking seller if still available, and got a DM from BryanW M, he’s even using same profile picture as the actual OP. BryanW M has no feedback and just joined and should be banned. I also reported him.
Update: Scammer claims he is the OP but can’t send a message with his actual account so he made a different account. Scammy as they come.

I have someone messaging ppl that have commented on my FS post sending them a fake address for payment. Mods please ban user account Dag072 and email [email protected].
In regards to Goneballistic, why do the admins/mods not block her IP and IMEIs associated with the account in any fashion. This used to be common practice for forums.
What is the point of being a supporter of the forum doesn’t support you as a member? I have reported this user multiple times with no gain in protecting others. I have also never felt with so many scammers as I have on this site alone. Where is the due diligence?
Additionally, the feedback keeps resetting. I’m willing to bet a mod is being paid off or they’re hacking the site. Again, what is the advantage of being a supporter?

Maybe if dumb motherfuckers stopped posting WTB ads like Lowlight told them then they wouldn’t get scammed?
If you only knew how many scammers we ban and spam you wouldn’t ask that question and if you want to insinuate a member of the mods is being paid off then we will get rid of you too. How’s that sound?

Scammers have very few posts, real accounts have 100s, most scammers are out by 12. I think a spoof account got you, we killed it and now you’re chasing the real account.
But post your proof, I want to see all your evidence.

Well I’d be glad to meet up. 
So the account that the other users and myself had an issue with is an actual account being spoofed in the same direct message traffic? Wouldn’t you be able to see my account as well and the message traffic?
My issues is that I’ve reported the same account multiple times and they have become unbanned multiple times.
Edit: I added two photos.
“Banned” is a screenshot a few minutes before the lack of “Banned” is on their account. Don’t already seems they are not banned.
Unless I’m missing something, this is pretty valid for someone and other members to have questions on.

The scammer you are talking to is probably already banned. You have a report button use that on the person talking to you via PM. Look at the post count I bet it’s low and doesn’t match

People were told not to post WTB ads and then get scammed and we are the problem? People get PMs from some other name than someone who is selling and item and send that person money and we are the problem? Lol
The scammers watch the sales section, when you post stuff they jump into private messages to try and beat the actual seller or buyer and ask for money or do whatever

On top of that, we turned off registration, it’s manual, every account is looked at, but they have dormant accounts and they hack accounts ( by hack they buy email / password combos and try them, with dormant and hacked accounts they rename to spoof the sellers they are watching.

The recent WTB ad’s that I posted were designed to attract scammers. I proceeded to notify admin so they would be banned. I had hoped that I would aid in ridding the site of these accounts. This was intended to protect other forum members.
These scammers were banned quickly in almost every case but almost immediately allowed back on the forum where they began trying to take advantage of members.
It was a wasted effort.

No, not to blame but your conduct isn’t viewed in an optimistic manner. I mean this in respect to this thread. You are a top tier member and I appreciate all your contributions over the years. However, the responses in this thread are not conducive to a healthy forum.
They were not “allowed back”. Don’t try and insinuate we allowed them back. They use different emails and techniques to rejoin. They aren’t just allowed back.

That is why we always tell people not to post I’ll take it in the post but just pm the seller.
Did you report this to the moderators? There is a report button. Frank has told us many times that the names and numbers of these scammers are irrelevant, as these are international organized crime rings that continously discard names and numbers. Only the IP used is useful to him.
Heads up moderators. This happened on my sale thread with a potential buyer. Comment has since been removed, but I wanted to put the screenshot here so everyone is aware of the account and email they used. For clarification, a buyer posted he wanted my item and this clown posted the info below to intercept the payment. No money was exchanged.

You reported it with the report function, right? Frank has often said the user name and email are meaningless, as they are simply discarded by these organized crime rings.
Buyer and I were not able to. It was removed shortly after. That is why I posted here.

Did you report the PM? I don’t see it in the reports. We can’t do anything if we don’t know.
At bottom of post/dm you hit the report button. Or go to his profile and report it.
