No response to that thread. Can someone please confirm that this is by design?

PS: I did submit a ticket to Zeiss as per @DeathBeforeDismount ’s suggestion. But it’d be a relief to find out before Monday.

I don't know if that is "normal" or not as I don't own a Zeiss but it does not look normal and would certainly concern me as well.

Where did you buy it? Did you buy it new and did you contact them? Did you contact the manufacturer? Be patience, these cases will get resolved but unfortunately don't tend to move quick.

I got it from PX. I did email Zeiss and waiting to hear back from them.

I’d blast the person that sold that instead of having it warrantied themselves.

Edit: after that most recent video maybe not, might be how it’s disassembled but that seems like more than I would have done to the scope to discover the issue.

He said that he wasn’t aware of it. Seems like a good guy and has good feedback. I kept turning it counter clockwise until it popped off, so I might’ve done it with my jungle hands. But when I put the knob back on and turned it clockwise a little bit … it doesn’t pop off even if I pull it hard.

Yeah, I'm 99.9% sure that's NOT normal... The small (thin) cap on the end is where the battery goes, I'm pretty sure that portion of the cap is not supposed to come off on the end-user side of things, notice the electrical leads sticking out...

I'd definitely see what Zeiss has to say. They're typically really good CS, so they should take care of you. If they give you the run-around, maybe one of our local vendors that is a Zeiss dealer, like @gr8fuldoug over at CameraLand, that has some connections with Zeiss might can get you taken care of through a Zeiss rep or something...

Thank you very much.
