Shot a match with the owner of recoilx this past fall where he had one of his prototype units and it caught my interest. I had a chance to buy a unit this last week and took it up for some testing.

Overall it performs really well... obviously slight noise penalty but very effective. I felt like it was pretty close to the best of both worlds between shooting fully suppressed vs just a brake only.

I was able to stay on target in the glass through the full recoil off a few positions and can't wait to try it on a bigger 30 cal soon.

I was using a silencerco hybrid 46 with their 30 cal self timing brake.

On a gas gun 223 it had noticably less back pressure than just my front end cap alone which I thought was interesting.

Seems like a legit option for those of us with cans already vs buying something like the maverick straight up. I have been primarily shooting a tbac can but will probably run a can with a Recoilx brake on it this season.

Not affiliated in anyway with recoilx but I think the owner is a stand up guy from my interactions with him and I like supporting solid products from good folks.

Interesting. I may end up picking one up for my hybrid 46 as well as it mostly sits unused now. What did you shoot through it with your AXMC?

I didn't see pricing info on their site either, but maybe I'm blind.

3ohate and 6.5cm. will run some 300nm imp through it before May.

Sub 200 think like 185 iirm

How does the brake time and be at the proper rotation?

I mean it lowered back pressure with my particular set up I'm not claiming it will for everyone yymv.

Yeah I’m curious on how it would work on the Omega vs the anchor brake. I know the anchor brake is subjective. Some say it works some say it doesn’t do much.

Well your in luck as I think I still have an anchor brake collecting dust somewhere I can test.. Recoil is mm very linear imo like a brake with the Recoilx and the impulse is very very short like a brake. I don't remember the anchor or ebrake being that way

I’ve been waiting for something like this.

Did he give any indication as to when the Bravo & Dead Air compatible versions would be available for purchase?

I'm pretty sure he's got production units of each fresh this week. He's waiting for his account to get approved on here so he can start his own thread etc etc.

I have a limited run of all variants in hand. $185 on all variants. My website is under construction and I can’t take any payment there. You can wait until the website is fully functional (1-2 weeks) or DM on instagram or email me. I can get you taken care of. Right now I’m covering shipping, in the contiguous US. When the website is up, applicable taxes and shipping will be added.

I'd be interested to see a version for the dead air R-type endcaps in .308 and .338, since the main issue I have with shooting suppressed via the primal is the recoil being just enough to stop me from spotting my own shots when I'm using the suppressor instead of my A419 hellfire

Same with the hybrid. I really wish I had some 300nm or prc loaded to test

I haven’t verified for 100% if my Dead Air variant works on the new Dead Air XC. They don’t ship with all the tools to disassemble to verify on R-type. The thread sizes are 1-1/8x28, so if the R-type retains the same threads(visually looks the same) it should work. During testing for recoil on a 300 WM weighing 9 pounds, spotting shots have been possible on bench and off tripod.
Shooting Berger 215’s at 2900 FPS with Diligent Defense S-Ti and Recoil X brake.

I have shot thousands of rounds on uncoated aluminum prototypes. From .223 up to 300 NM(on multiple cans) and no signs of fatigue or failure have presented themselves. Most of the testing has been with 6ARC, 6.5 creed, 6.5 PRC, 7SS, 7PRC, 300 WM, 300 NM. ( amongst a few others )

The decision was made for aluminum due to the weight. The suppressors higher strength materials take all of the pressure and slow and cool the gasses down. The brake then diverts those gasses like a conventional brake would do on the muzzle of the barrel. It’s quite surprising how much gas and how quickly it comes out of a very effective suppressor. The type III hard anodized aluminum is plenty strong enough from what we found in our tests. (Almost a year of testing) For another types of materials, product would have to cost more.(could be an option, just not right now) Titanium would be sweet, but would end up costing double.
