Not sure if non-AI AIs are cool here, but wanted to share this one. It was actually built for GA State SWAT. Apparently the gunsmith built 5 and they only wanted 3, so 2 were sold. It's a 20" factory fluted 700 Police LTR. I had LRI add the bolt knob and flute the bolt. It had a tuned xmark in there, but even a tuned xmark isn't much to write home about, so I swapped in a TT. Not the coolest rifle in here by a long shot, but it's unique enough to share I suppose.
This is like posting a tranny in the MPT thread. Even if it looks like the real thing, it's not.

I dig rifles with stories like this. Sounds like a clean build too. The attention to detail is also nice. I wonder how the GA State SWAT likes their other 3.
It’s cool. But the constant rubbish in this AI picture thread isn’t.
The hide has changed over the years, unlike actual AI’s which are no fuss get the job done systems, a number of new age AI owners have bought an expensive piece of kit and think it’s a flex on people to own acting like misbehaved children. The irony.
This is not to discredit those who really run AI’s. There’s a lot of posing going on. It’s everywhere these days in everything.
For the misbehaved kids or full grown men at the back yes I can afford AI’s and so what, move along. This is Snipershide.

Spare me your karening. This is an AI thread. People keep posting non AI rifles in it (sometimes very nice non AI rifles) and therefore we make jokes about it. Both because it is funny and because it keeps this thread from turning into a Bubba AICS build thread.
This is for AIs. If you want to see other rifles, go to other threads. This has nothing to do with cost.
If you have no sense of humor, please leave the hide.

Because it’s only really AI threads that this happens in. Same thing happens with Staccato in the handgun world, which is also amusing.
We are here for AI’s yes. This running joke would unanimously win the beating a dead horse on the Hide title.

I don’t think people are seriously putting others down just because they bought an expensive gun. It also seems like most people here actually shoot their AIs. I know I do. People post non AI guns in an AI gun thread (despite aics threads existing), so playful ribbing ensues.
But I would buy one for my kids and not the other.

Okay, in all honesty I do have a Cricket .22LR for my girls to learn on.
There is some cheap plastic on that rifle. Even your firing pin/cooking assembly.
Will it work? Sure. Mine has. And if you want to get the kids out on something "like dad's", then probably not a bad deal. An heirloom it is not however.
The boys pretty much get the AT-X in 6br now that they like to reload. Although they both prefer the action on the trg22 to the AI.

He modified my .300 win magazines for my AXSR and I shot 20 .300PRC rounds without issue. Looks like they have a modified Red 3D printed follower. I've been out for preety serious surgery and getting back into it.

I do prefer my TRG over my AI aswell these days. The ergonomics fit me way bester.

How come AI doesn’t make a mag that works 100% with the PRC?
can only design perfection around so many variables.
I'd guess the cartridges they care about are the most common ones used in military. .338 lm, .300 win mag, .308 win etc
Magazine optimized for one may not be for the other.
.300 win mags "work" but the reliability for me and others was not acceptable in practice.
Ai's are great rifles, I bought my AXSR and barrels and bolts to run many cartridges. But IMO they should improve on their .300 WIN magazines if they can for .300 PRC round.
Even my 6mm creed runs better in my .308 magazines, just luck of the draw on the random calibers I think.
People offering one-off assistance on $10k+ rifles only strengthens ai's ecosystem imo.

Just my opinion but one should NOT have to turn to 3rd party to get a rifle to feed well from its own magazine. This is utterly unacceptable.
.300PRC is being utilized by DOD and NAVSPECWAR and Lord knows who else. Not like it’s some boutique 7mmBrokeBack cartridge or whatever.
Don’t sell a rifle chambered in .300 PRC if you’re not going to make a magazine for it that works out the gate.
