Movie Theater Dexter Original Sin

Not sure how many folks here were fans of the original Dexter series (and the books)...

But I started watching Dexter Prequel... And it so far is really good!

Casting Christian Slater as 'Dad' was inspired. He always was a great psycho (Heathers!)

Totally enjoying the series. If any of you like a good serial killer series... this is it!

I've been enjoying it. I thought Deb was funny as hell in the original, The shit she says seems even funnier when she only 17 or so, lol.

I like that Michael C. Hall is still doing the voiceovers for younger Dexter. Christian Slater was a good pick for the father.

Liking it so far, idk how they got a few of the cast so close to the originals though! Dexter, Batista and Masuka really seem like younger versions of the old actors

I have had to do a double take on Batista a few times because I literally thought he was the same guy.

Now if only this effort could have been taken with the making of "Without Remorse",,,, both characters and storyline.

Started watching new blood, but could only tolerate 4 episodes.
"7 rem mag AR-15", "distinct leupold scope", pulling a cartridge, not a bullet out of Deb (most annoying character in TV-history), Harrison's magical super choke, so much shit that that made it impossible to feel any immersion.

My wife liked the original, so we will watch it pretty soon. Thanks for the heads up in the post above. That shit drives me crazy. I can deal with it better if I know it’s coming.

There has never been a decent Clancy movie. Hunt for Red October was ok. Patriot games was 'adequate.' But the ending sucked. After that, they were all completely idiotic. Sorry, but casting Willem Dafoe as Clark was utterly a travesty. And I like Willem Dafoe. He is a superb actor and really has had some fantastic (non-sequitor) roles! But he is NOT Clark.

Maybe someday they'll make a Clancy series or feature length that is not awful... But since the Clancy brand is now just cranked out by ghost-writers like some kind of Xerox machine with AI pushing the button... I doubt it.

Sad, because many of the Crichton books were turned into absolutely stellar movies! And those were way more complex than Clancy. Same with Frederick Forsythe... (except Dogs of War which was horrible). A number of his books have made great films. But Clancy just got turned into schlock.

I saw something about a new series coming out this year, but with the original cast? Didn't know about this, but then I did ditch all paid TV and internet services in 2020.

Huh, missed the AR thing, and don't remember the cartridge thing. But, I drank a lot back then, so there's that. I view what little television I watch as mindless entertainment, otherwise I'll pick every plot apart bit by bit.
