Night Vision New Nvision scope posted accidentally?

This thing will be obsolete before it even gets released.

It’s sad. I like NVision. I’ve almost bought a NOX18 multiple times, and talked with them about buying one of their “blem” Filmless PVS-14’s that they offer from time to time(they didn’t have any in stock at the time), but their product offerings (at least the ones I’m interested in) just aren’t competitive with what else is out there.

If they released a NOX18 that had a clip on mode(not even with a Risley prism, I’m cool with having to “zero” it like the RH25) for ~$6,000, I’d have one yesterday. But it’s been ~4 years since the NOX18 has been updated, which is basically like 20 years in the thermal market. I hope they continue to turn out new/improved products in the future. I’d like to buy one some day.
In my opinion the NOX18 is the one that makes the most sense in their lineup today. I run mine exclusively on the helmet and it is bombproof (50 cal rated) with a gorgeous picture. I recently bought an RL25v2 and while the picture is nice once adjusted, it takes a lot more adjustment from night to night to get a nice picture. The NOX18 just gives a great image with minor adjustments. I've considered buying another NOX18 or even 35 as a dedicated unit where I don't need a range finder.

However, my next purchase might be a Nocpix 1280 if they are what they say they are which sucks because I wanted to buy American but another year delay and an unclear ballistics integration doesn't help me make that choice

I ultimately went with the AGM StingIR 640 over the NOX18 due to the clipon capability. At least AGM was an American company, even if the StingIR was just a rebadged Jerry-YM from Iray.

I fully agree with the comment made just above about NVision turning into Trijicon. Had some bangers last decade with the M300 and SkeetIR, but then failed to really innovate their product line much and got left behind.

I hope people read this thread whenever people cry about people buying Chinese origin thermals. There’s a market of people literally pleading for American thermal manufacturers to keep up with the Chinese technology (used to be the other way around, remember) and we’re met with mostly crickets.

POT is still the best and American, but they are .gov priced which really is a bummer. If I had no budget the Voodoo S and MX would be my do all units but sadly I don't have $40k to throw at thermal right now!

Oh I fully agree. But when the RH25v2 can do 85% of the job of the Voodoo-S for $12,000 less, it’s hard for any individual who doesn’t have access to Uncle Sam’s credit card to justify that purchase.

If it wasn’t obvious that I was talking about the civilian market, then let me make that clear. I’m fully aware that the MIC has some X-ray thermal glasses that can see into the future. But that doesn’t exist to normal people like us (as if we’re normal 🥴).

I've been asking Nvis to not fall into the trij trap and was happy when they came out with the X50 powered by 18650's.
When BAE came out with the Athena 1920 res core in 23, I was saving my pennies for the Golden Halo X??? to come out.
Lo and behold Nvis comes out with a set of Binos and a clip on while multiple brands are coming out with 1280 res optics with built in LRF's and ballistic drop tech for under $7k.
The two saving features Nvis has going for it IMHO are the fixed focus and adaptive reticle.
You get spoiled when not having to focus while tracking a target.
Maybe Nvis doesn't need civilian sales and will dump the civilian market like FLIR did and leave us with only foreign made optics to choose from ?
Hope not, but the writing is on the wall if their newly released optics are old news.
