What cars you fools have?

This is why buying a used Corvette in Montana guarantees it wasn't driven much... And why I own 4 trucks and an SUV. 🤣

If you look closely you can see where my son crushed my door with my sister's ranger 800. Turns out a ranger dump box is pretty sturdy compared to a truck door.

It was 55* and sunny yesterday.

My first car was a 1993 full-size Bronco. I’ve had three F-150s (1998, 2005 and 2010) and a 1999 Mustang GT. A few years ago when I lived in Alaska, I drove a 1987 full-size Bronco. Loved that truck with the 351/C6 combo.

Reading your post reminded me.
My first car was a 1967 Fiat/Abarth 124 factory Abarth (scorpion) built for the Paris-Dakar rally.
If I remember right I think it weighed like 980 lbs....970-990....somewhere in there.
It was a tiny little thing, built 4 cyl with dual side draft DCOF weber carbs pushing about 300 horsies.
Might not sound like much, but with that light chassis it hauled ass in a big way.
Aluminum floor pan, unsyncro'd tranny, koni suspension, full cage.
Noisy as hell but I street drove it anyway because it was easy to street register shit like that back then and it got an easy 24-30mpg if I wasn't on it too hard.

No I don't have any pics because that was eons ago but I found something similar...
Imagine this with a hard top, not the 'vert this one has.
Of course mine had more primer than paint because it was a well used race car.
Gotta love you some 13" wheels and tires:)

I knew a guy who had owned one. He said it was pretty quick at the drag strip, and did well against others in it's class.

WOW, talk about bringing back memories. Had to dig for the photo but here was mine in 1968. Bought her used right after getting out of the Army the first time in 1967. Cousin is on the left, me at 21 years old. The guy that bought her new got married, had a child, & his wife made him sell her & buy a Chevy II wagon. She had all the goodies.

My attraction to the Cybertruck seems to be a thing of the past now. Even with a diesel model available, it's frame does not allow the mounting of a lot of equipment and the next daily driver I acquire WILL be built into a tornado chase vehicle as well.

Looking at BOXY again. There's a few around my way with good pricing and good miles on em... Or stay with what I am familiar with, a Ram 2500.

cruiser70-001.jpg

Not looking to build them into a fully armored Dominator (TIV) either, because that would be awkward to use as a daily. Moderate hail and debris-proofing will be in order though.

Current daily drivers are a 2013 BMW 535xi, and a 03 Dodge 3500 diesel for when i need a truck. No need for pics of those, nothing special.
Other cars I currently have and continually change:

72 Nova bought for $700 back when I was 15 in 1991. My first car and still have it... many different configurations. in 06 was turbocharged 5.3L back when no one was doing it. Now I am redoing the entire thing again, body, drivetrain.. Going back to old school SBC carbed, putting 5 speed in it, no electronics not even an electric fan... Its back halved with a 4 link setup. Was more drag car, making it a fun street driver again. And have to be different so I cant put an LS in it again, there are probably 5 ls conversion cars on my block alone...

99 Transam I bought in 2004. Currently 370ci. with a 88mm turbo, TH400, 9" rear, 8.50 chromoly cage hidden nicely, all interior still everything works except AC. Went 9.60 @ 141 w/ the old 76mm setup, this setup makes more power but more laggy, needs a different converter yet. Probably putting a powerglide in it this summer. Stock wheels its undetectable... sleeper.

71 chevelle bought in 2012. Traded a 99 corvette FRC for it (high mile, needed paint). Its super solid paint still on underside... Stored project incomplete since the 80's. not a show car, nice driver. Fasttimes Motorworks 496 in it, TH350, 3.50 geared 9". Has stock driveshaft in it yet so have not ran it at track. It was friends motor in front of a TH400 and 4.11 gears went 11.00 @ dont remember mph. Lighter trans and tuning my expectations are 10.90's and drive anywhere street car.
I like nostalgia... Old school movies like "Catch me if you can"... the race cars had names, themes, 70's stuff. So i named the car the "Silver tounged devil".
I swap wheels on everything all the time. Someone painted the stupid stripes on it wrong prior to me owning it, so I outlined them in red pinstripe tape and put the name on the back... cant hurt it.

Dream car? Like, singular? Who only has one dream car.
I like the way you think. I love all my vehicles, each serves a different need. For backcountry fun it's my 4X4.

But my newest love, my dream car, was an anniversary gift from my wife. A 12 cylinder Bentley Continental GT Speed "Le Mans Limited Edition" Coupe...one of 48 in existence. My New Year's Eve gift. Always wanted one but finding it in black? My wife is Italian from NYC...shopping is a blood sport for her. LOL

One of my more recent acquisitions.

1998 Toyota HZJ105L. 1 of about 5 that I'm aware of in the USA. Initially these were only offered to Government, Military, United Nations, NGO's, etc. ...never to the public, until a few years later they started offering them to dealers in Australia.

Basically it's a 100-series body on a 80-series chassis (solid front axle).
1HZ 4.2L inline six diesel (which is still offered overseas), manual transmission, subtank (extra 12.5 gallons of fuel), ambulance doors, factory rear tire carrier. And no engine computer or ECU, so bring on the EMP blast!

I will say this, I wanted a BMW until I drove a Macan through Yosemite and wow did that little thing zip through there in the tight twisty corners. For a little SUV that things handles incredibly well, impressively to say the least and feels so well planted on the road. With the PASM and torque vectoring it inspires confidence when cranking it through corners.
0-60 in 3.6 (real world from what I have seen from tests)
Guys are getting the 1/4 in 12's if memory serves my correctly.
It's a fast little twin turbo that I could afford and load my guns in the trunk to drive to 2 gun biathlon, run and gun events, USPSA and PCSL matches while having room for the kids and dogs.

I rented a Macan S for a wedding in Napa (not gay dudes) because the Savagegeese dudes said it was awesome. What an absolute POS. All relative I guess.

If the Bentley gets parked outside I gotta wonder what’s in the garage!

Really? Wow, my experience was totally different but my parent S was optioned out and pretty impressive. Much, much more impressive than the BMW X3 M40I.

For me it is a practical compromise (because screw a minivan).

That Sport Plus mode changes the experience. The PASM and torque vectoring (PASM is a standard option and torque vectoring is an option) along with PCB make for a fun little SUV that I can tote my guns, gear in for long trips to matches.
