I've always been skeptical of these "caravans" we keep seeing reported in the news. Thousands if not tens of thousands of folks "walking" across Central America under the premise of seeking a better life... and maybe an element of that is true but...
Have you ever looked at the alleged refugees in those pictures? Does it strike anyone else as anything other than a "photo-op"? Again, I'm not the smartest cookie but I know how to make comparative relationships-
Remember when we were told about how thousands of folks "walked" from Guatemala to the US? That's something like... what 2,200 miles (conservatively)? Just as a hint- it's a bit more than that.

The closest relationship I can associate that 'journey' to is that of someone walking the Appalachian Trail which is comparatively 2200 miles in itself... practically a "chip shot" compared to almost 2,600 miles we're led to believe. Heck- did you know that if you were to complete the A.T., you can have your entire trip recorded because of the accomplishment? True story, look it up and don't take my word for it.

The "success" rate of those that attempt a thru hike and those that are able to pull it off is about... 25% as far as I can determine from official records. That's 400 miles short of our 'refugees', that's on a well traveled trail where many cottage industries have popped up to support. These are folks that despite their age are able to set aside around 10 thousand dollars to fund this 'adventure' for one person, put an entire half year of their life on the side so they can "walk" a trail, likely spend a year or two coordinating it, document 'trail angels' & have the absolute latest & greatest equipment available in western nations, have the ability to research said equipment for on average over a year while planning their adventure on the AT, and have the disposable income available to buy luxurious such as... backpacks, stoves, food, fuel, heck even socks, what have you...
And yet we've been sold this story of folks walking from Guatemala with nothing but a water bottle and a t-shirt? AND they "walked" several hundred more miles, without any infrastructure in place for things like bathrooms, resupply, showers, places to sleep/eat? Sorry but that math just doesn't and never has added up.
If you agree the math doesn't 'add up' then "who" is taking said pictures, "who" is providing these stories to the news, "why" are these never being vetted, and "why" are these stories accepted as fact. Even better question... "who" is paying for this migration, "why" are they doing so, and "where" are these people ending up?
