I am outfitting a very lightweight hunting rifle that is threaded 1/2x28. I would like to buy the lightest suppressor available for this setup, and would not need to use it for anything greater than .30 caliber..

So far, the Silencerco Scythe Ti appears to be the best option at 7.3 oz., and I can change the titanium baseplate to 1/2x28. Is anyone aware of a lighter option? I have several Silencerco suppressors, and have been pleased with them.

Would also welcome any feedback on other options for extremely light suppressors.

Thanks in advance.

I don’t think you would be disappointed with the SilencerCo Scythe. If you are interested in saving a few dollars take a look at the “Jolene” 7.62 suppressor from Resilient. It is very lightweight, 8.3oz, and very quiet.

Ultra 5 Gen 2 would be close as well, especially with an aftermarket mount such as the SRS CB Brake. That combo would be 7.25. Hansohn Bros have a CB direct thread adapter, too. No idea if that weighs more than a CB brake or flash hider, though.

I would probably still go Scythe.

AB Raptors are light. the 8 stack is 8oz and the same size as the Scythe...slightly longer, not as much diameter. I have a 10 and 8 they are both good performers. I run both with reflexes choosing more suppression over a few more oz's but they can be direct threaded or hub threaded for the lightest configuration.

I believe that's with the included 5/8x24 Bravo adapter.

If not, then it's likely that everyone else's weight is without the mount as well. I am genuinely looking for the lightest option.
It is not. The mount adds 1oz, so it’s for sure heavier than an Ultra 5. The Scythe would also be a touch heavier than an LPM Mach K. GA Precision Jäger would be close to the Ultra 5 (made by Mack Bros). Wyoming Arms 4 Squared is way lighter, but I’d rather stick to known/trusted brands.

Rugged Alaskan Ti is rated for upto 338lapua so the hole is larger, but advertised weight is 6.6oz with the direct thread mount.

I've never heard one, but played with it at the ffl.
I have one for my .350 Legend for deer hunting. I am pretty sure you can swap the endcap out for a .30 cal cap. I don't even notice the weight of it on my rifle.

Any updates? Buddy and I are setting up lightweight rifles too, I'm running Ultra 7, he's buying a Scythe, If I didn't already have the Ultra 7 I'd probably get the Scythe and run it direct thread too; but I have 2 other expensive TBAC cans ordered/paid, so I can't justify getting the Scythe too, since the U7 comes close in performance/weight

you can get too weight weenie, especially when you're down to the last ounce
