This wins the internet cuteness award for the day! 😎

I had a black lab like that, loved my daughter, nothing came into the yard. I remember one time when the mother-in-law came over and "Hoover" (sucked up food like a vacuum cleaner) just sat down between the daughter and mother-in-law and stared her down. I had to leave the room, I was laughing so hard.

Made me think of how generations of breeding and training come into play. Thats what G. Shepherds are bred to do. My buddy has a couple that follow him around like he's shitting prime rib. Nikita my (40%) wolfdog is just the opposite, really independent. She would go over and check the kid out, make sure its ok, then ignore it. I honestly dont know if she would protect it from a person, but God help any animal came into the yard, it would be an entirely different story.

My 2nd previous shepard was a great friend and protector to my son when he was a baby, but he passed just a couple years later.

Got my last shep when my son was 8. The dog didn't care that my son was even alive. Had no interest in him at all.

Every dog is different

F German Shepherds.
Still have the scars from when I was attacked by one named Leo that belonged to the next door neighbor in 1974 when I was 6 years old.
Damned thing had me by the throat dragging me across the yard and shaking me like a rag doll. It went on for several minutes until some adults became aware of what was happening and got the bastard off me.
They had to choke him near to death to make let me go.
I almost bled out before dad could get me to the ER and it took nearly 30 stitches to repair the damage to my face and neck.

Per this link and post 101,599 above, that person was not in involved in any way.

Super easy for us to get sucked into the whirlwind of bullshit being posted in all the news and social media lanes. 99% of it is just as fake as CNN.
