I verified with Tally I have 6-48 threads. I ordered a 20 MOA Medium height 30mm extended ring set. My current Hawke scope has only a 42mm objected, so I hope I didn’t get them too high. I hope to get a bigger better scope eventually and wanted to make sure I had room.
Went to range with an old 1” Simmons 6.5-20x44 mounted on medium high Tally’s. The objective bell is just a hair off the barrel, but it worked.
I fired two factory loads at 100 yds using Labradar, 71°:
1. Hornady Superformance 120 GMX, V(10)= 3036, SD=13.5
Zeroed scope with these. Last 3 shot group was .614”. (Pretty good with 120’s)
2. Hornady BLACK ammo 140 BTHP, V(4)= 2647, SD=25.1, 5 @ .836”
Then I fired my last five reloads left over from testing my weatherby vanguard.
Hornady 140 BTHP’s, Re-17 41 grains, Winchester Large Pistol primers (this was an mistake on my part , but they seemed to work pretty good)
V(5)=2772, SD=9.4, 5@1z18” ,
[email protected]” I knew I pulled the one flyer)
So it was good session. Only thing I noticed that caught my eye was ALL loads had primers that were very slightly cratered, although the primers look perfectly fine otherwise.
