Just checking in if theres any luck on the progress!Hard to say. Machine shop timeline promises are notoriously unreliable. I am testing a prototype. It is looking pretty good so far. If I do not find anything to change, it will go into production in a matter of weeks not months.

Still at the machine shop.Any update on this?
Thats the internal auto NUC which is refreshing the image based off temp changes. The longer the unit is on and running the less it'll NUC as long as temps remain the same.Quick question to those running the Gen 2...periodically, I get a "click" and the image freezes for a nanosecond. I'm assuming it's some sort of auto record or still image recording? Any idea how to turn it off?
Been experimenting with aftermarket batteries. The batteries included with my Steinter were labeled Modlite and they don't seem to have a ton of capacity compared to some high quality Japanese cells of the same capacity.
I ended up purchasing four of these and they seem to last longer than the included batteries. These are identical in length.

Yep. If the mounting system for that device wasn't pants on head retarded (for the US market) I'd buy one to supplement my gen 1 that gets whored around on like seven rifles. I don't understand why this is so difficult for Steiner to get squared away. Take the gen 2 C35 and give it a sturdy interface for something like an ACOG mount... BOOM, watch the euros roll in. BIGLY bonus points if they can shoehorn a LRF or at least a pic rail (or interface for a pic rail) on left (and maybe right) side so we can mount our own WMLRF there if needed. That's actually a great price.
My scope is 4-16 and can see the menu, but not the whole screen.Haven't seen it mentioned here but what's the minimum low end mag to be able to see the menus and stuff? Would it be gtg with a 4.5x low end? I want to snag one of these but lots of the rifles I'd run it on have a low end of 4.5x (Razor LHT, Razor G2).
Can't see the menu icons on 5x but can see the menu names just fine and can navigate no problem.Haven't seen it mentioned here but what's the minimum low end mag to be able to see the menus and stuff? Awesome thanks for this bro!If you haven't seen it, there's now a dedicated pic mount for the C35 Gen 2. https://annexdefense.com/steiner-nighthunter-gen-ii-picatinny-rail-mount/
I'm assuming 1.5" but how large an objective can it clear? If you haven't seen it, there's now a dedicated pic mount for the C35 Gen 2. https://annexdefense.com/steiner-nighthunter-gen-ii-picatinny-rail-mount/

The controls on the Steiner are relatively straightforward.@koshkinis this the mount you mentioned that as of late last year was in manufacturing? Or is there a different mount coming?Never mind, I checked your locals site and indeed it is.
I’ve been wanting to jump into the thermal game but struggle with the decision between a clip-on vs scope. The Steiner seems to have a focusing knob close to the day scope’s objective bell, so maybe that makes the ergo challenges less?
How much did it cost and where did you buy it?I bought the Praezise-Jagen mount for my C35 Gen2. So far it seems like a very good and solid option, especially for rifles that do not have forward mounted rail systems. This system seems well made and is easy to use. Easy on and off of the thermal. I also got the see through front lens cover. You will definitely have to correctly measure the outside objective diameter precisely and shipping takes about 15 days because of customs.

To get the Annex mount to 1.93", you could pick up a short Picatinny riser like this 0.39" Reptilia one: https://reptiliacorp.com/product/rmu-mount-magnifier/... Why I am attracted to it is I like my scopes high. On an AR, 1.93” high or more. I don’t thing that Annex mount would work, unless they plan to sell risers. @koshkin?
That should work with most scopes as long as the objective bell is not too large. To get the Annex mount to 1.93", you could pick up a short Picatinny riser like this 0.39" Reptilia one: https://reptiliacorp.com/product/rmu-mount-magnifier/
You'd end up within 1 mm of perfect scope alignment, so almost unnoticeable.
I found…the Burris eyepiece adapter to see how it did as a spotter. The answer is "not great". The Burris eyepiece limits FOV and is mainly a thread protector.
@pangris @35L4S SOTIC @Ape_Factory any further thoughts on this unit?RE: an eyepiece - the unit works well enough as a monocular without an extra piece.
Now that you mention the Euros, Praezise-Jagen did have some eyepiece for sale for clip-ons, but it is kinda long. I found it on one of the only English-speaking videos about Praezise-Jagen.IMO, I think it's realistic. There are companies that make 2X and 3X eyepieces that work with the Steiner but they're European and you'll need to import them. The Burris is literally just a rubber tube/eye cup.
