Garmin Tacktix or other watch?

I've got an Apple Watch that's done a decent job. Though I'd like something that doesn't scratch as easily, longer battery life, etc. Mainly for rucking, outdoors type events, etc. Had been looking at some of the Garmins and it seems the Tactix line is like the Fenix but with the option for AB software on it as well. I don't have newer fancier rangefinder but I do have a Kestrel Elite I use for PRS and the like. Will the watch compliment/add to the Kestrel in some cool way? Same question I would have for potentially getting the Garmin chronograph down the line when I get bored with my Magnetospeed. Because if they can all talk to each other and what, that'd be a big push for me to go with that over say a Fenix. Or, are there any other handy digital smartwatches I should look to? (Been an analog guy for the longest time.)

I have a tactix 7 and love it. But if you want it solely for AB integration you'll be disappointed.
The Garmin is AB lite and does not talk to a kestrel.it can get weather from a kestrel but they have different apps and you need to enter your info and tune separately.
The watch doesn't talk to the chrono at all.
Don't get me wrong I love my Tactix and the options are amazing but the shooting stuff is over hyped

I havea. Tactix Delta and an Apple Watch Ultra. My Tactix only gets used at the range and some hiking trails. My Apple Watch is mostly for working out and sleep tracking. I prefer automatic watches for day to day. The AB integration on the Tactix is nice but incomplete. You can load the app on your phone and push profiles to the watch though which makes editing them easier. But it is still incomplete in that it can't talk to a kestrel or other devices.

I bought a Garmin Instinct 2 Solar tactical a year or so ago - north of $400 well spent. That's all I wear know. 30 year old Rolex is in the safe... The new Instinct 3 added a partial color screen. Love the watch but learning curve is pretty high because it does soooo many things. Bulletproof.

Old thread, but if your settling searching for a watch I highly recommend the Coros Vertex 2. I bought mine 3 years ago mainly for the battery life & it has been killer.
