Unknown Munitions Bottom Metal?

Anyone have any experience with or feedback on these? I love the design and push button release, don't love the proprietary mags but not the end of the world.

$220 for the bottom metal and $130 for the mags. It's not flush fitting like a Hawkins hunter mag and not a front barricade stop either. So just fugly IMHO.

I think for a hunting rifle neither really matter. I'm more curious about fit, finish, and functionality.

It’s legit. I have one on my .300 Terminator and it feeds great and the mag release design is the shit. Do it.

Gunsmithing - Remington 700 DBM opinions from guys that put them in.....and use them.

Lots of options out there. Lots of opinions. Figured Id ask here amongst the people that install them in hopes of finding out what is preferred as far as ease of fitting and just plain works for the customer. My build is going to be a wood stocked R700 in .308. Kind of an M40esque heavy...

I put it in my 300 prc and think its great. Had the Hawkins flush fit in for a couple days tell i got this. Other then flush fit I will take the Unkown every time. And I use a bunch of Hawkins stuff so that is not a rip on them. More mag length for seating and it didnt' beat the crap out of the brass like the Hawkins did. Has functioned perfect on 2 sheep hunts

Lock up is good. My buddy that was along last week on the Desert sheep hunt is a big prs guy and first he laid hands on one. He really liked it and said he was going to try some. I am typically a BDL type person for hunting guns, but do really like this

Got mine in today. It's really nice, absolutely love the push button magazine. The mags are extremely nice too, might be the best feeling mags quality-wise I've handled to date including mdt and seekins carbon. Pictured is a 300 PRC with a Barnes 208 LRX in it.

Old thread but I just bought this with the short action XL magnum magazines and it is great. Can now load my 6.5 PRC up to 3.15” without issue.

I have a bat bumblebee, and run this mag/dbm setup with my long freebore 25prc. It's pretty badass to run near 3.2coal from a true short action!

I ended up taking mine off my rifle as it does not fit the Manners mini chassis (long action).

Old thread but can you tell me what didn't fit? I'm about to start a 7 saum on a SA Anti-X with the UM bottom metal and I want to be sure the micro mini chassis will/will not work.

Hopefully your action is cut for the extra long load port needed with the UM XL dbm. Believe bat bumblebee, igniter and Vesper were only ones that fit. Maybe defiance has jumped on board, thay did copy Bat recently with their bolt/lug config on lapua based action. The manners internal chassis will need modified with a kill to allow the XL layout to fit in there.

Yeah, the action is cut specifically for the UM XL or the Bainey Box. Not sure I'm following you on the necessary mods to the stock/mini chassis

The over external dimensions are way too long on the magwell. This is because the internal dimensions of the magwell are longer to fit UM's magazines with a greater coal. They made the walls of the magwell thin enough that they fit the majority of M5 footprints, buts it too tight on the Manners. I took one UM bottom metal I had to a belt sander and still couldn't get it in. Ended up tossing it in the garbage.

I have the UM XL M5 sa dbm in a few McMillans, lil bit of inletting and it was all good. Mini chassis will need milling.
