So you consider the Ford Ranger a "large" truck? The Irish are stupid

Wink Wow.gif

I spent several years working in Europe and you don’t see much of what we consider “full size” over there outside of a few in parts of Germany and maybe England. Very few pick up style trucks - just not a thing. Generally the cars are smaller - every standard euro auto maker (Merceds, BMV, Audi) had a model smaller than those they sold in the US. I had an Audi A6 which was considered a giant luxury car and, honestly, it wasn’t ideal to drive and park in some places as streets are often older than the US and much tighter. I also had a diesel VW golf for a bit that was perfect as it was torquey for the steep places and was easier to navigate and park. Even diesel transport trucks are smaller - never saw anything the size of a Freightliner with a 53’ trailer.

Any Irishman with an IQ over 80 left by 1900, all that remains is weirdos who wanted to fight over what religion the dead dog was going to be. As a people they are all cucks to their socialist overlords. As we speak Middle Eastern and African scum are raw dogging their women and breeding them into extinction.

Been to Ireland sevaral times. Their tour buses are whats dangerous and their are a bunch of big vehicles there for their roads. Highluxes, Landcruisers, Beemers and Mercedes of all sizes and Landrovers. Aside for the 2 main freeways most of the roads in the best parts of Ireland are sized for a side by side but you'll meet a tour bus running 70 in a blind curve. And yeah...I am red headed and live on single pot Whiskey.

It's comical how narrow their roads are. The typical half ton American truck is giant too them. A Tacoma is still a "full sized" truck.

If you aren't rubbing elbows with your passenger you're in a very large car or truck over there.

The Irish aren't stupid- they're just drinking and still quite pissed off (the kind of behavior that happens when treated as they have been for centuries).

I may be biased and I may be a little off in my memory but wasn't it the Irish leading the proverbial charge a few years ago about their hard-fought (and still split) country being overrun by middle eastern 'refugees' before it hit the mainland of Europe?

Ireland is similiar to here. The vast majority of people outside the cities are patriotic, rebellious, very conservative politically and socially. The cities are full of liberal european normie cucks.

Guys I thought it was a joke at first. After reading the comments I have determined that they have the iq of a potato. They believe the Ranger is too dangerous and leads to fatalities that could have been prevented if you were in a smaller car.

Is this the DEI version of a tonne? Regardless, a "ton" is 2000 lbs and a tonne is roughly 2200 lbs. That would mean this ranger weighs in at 7000 lbs. Listed weight is 4400 for a 2024. In other words about 2.5 tons or 2 tonnes (metric).

Other note: Truck looks in good shape for running over a person. Don't get me wrong, I feel sorry for those involved - nobody wants that to happen. Perhaps this carbon unit meant to say "A Ranger truck, like that shown above, ran over...."

Besides, this is why pop-up headlights went away, all headlights are now plastic shit, etc...pedestrian safety.

So… There is a kernel of truth, but just a kernel, and it might not even apply to the Ranger specifically…

For those that don’t want to watch the TL;DW is that tall grills reduce visibility of the driver. And, pedestrians impacted by taller vehicles are more likely to be fatally injured than those impacted by vehicles with lower grills. And, for the most part, the tall grills on pickups are just fashion- not functional necessities of the pickup design.

Drive where there are hogs, deer and cattle and they become way more than a fashion statement.

Weird, I’ve been driving in Texas for nearly 30 years and have never hit any of them- at least not with a vehicle…
My Tacoma has racked up 3 deer, several coyotes and 5 hogs here in Texas, not far from you. After replacing the bumper and radiator I installed one. Much better for me and the pickup and has paid for itself by not having to pay deductibles. I use it for pulling smaller mesquites, pushing a certain bull out of the way when he wants to get in the way of me putting out hay, etc. but you are correct that some are just car jewelry.

Irish are weenies for the most part

Anyways the current ranger has similar towing capacity as my 2004 v8 silverado (7600lbs) so yeah they've gotten bigger

The video isn’t referencing grill guards or cow pushers, but the distance from the top of the hood to the ground. Reducing this distance can have a meaningful impact on the survivability of pedestrians in vehicle/pedestrian accidents. And, in many modern pickups, this distance is artificially increased for ascetic purposes (a designer was quoted as saying he wanted the truck to look like a fist pushing through the air) beyond what is necessary to cover/protect the engine compartment.

That said, I no longer spend meaningful time on a cattle ranch. If I did, I would also have a cow pusher on my pickup.

Never go out without protection ;) :D
