Rifle Scopes Short scopes

Hello. Looking for a scope for a Daniel Defense DD5 V3. 16” .308 AR10.

Looking for something shorter in length like the
EOtech VUDU 5-25x50
Zeiss LRP S3 4-25x50
Leupold Mark 5HD 3.6-18x44
Nightforce NX8 2.5-20x50

Are there any other options I should consider? What would be the best value for the money?

Aimpoint T2?

Seriously though, without knowing your criteria I don't know if a LPVO or fixed power should be considered.

I gave 4 examples of what I’m looking for. Not looking for red dots, lvpos or fixed powers. Something for around ~600 yards with bad eyes

Also have a 16" 308 ar10 and chose the S&B 3-20 ultra short. Rifle is only 5.5lbs though, so it turns out I would've preferred something lighter - makes it top heavy. Yours is a few lbs heavier though, so it might be another good option to consider.

Kahles K318i is really short, has big 16 MIL turrets, and a 34mm tube. It's also built like a tank, and has exceptional glass and FOV.

Is there a reason you need short?
Or are you mostly wanting light and are thinking short because of weight?

March 4.5-28 is a great option.

Been very happy with my S3 4-25 so far, but only about 3 months of use on it. If you qualify for Expert Voice I think it’s a great value.

I have a NX8 2.5-20x50 on a SP-10 in 6.5C, one of my favorite rifles. Scope does its part going out to 1000yds.

Plenty of rail for a Clip-on Thermal, although my handguard is probably longer than yours. Balance is great, didn't like a heavy Razor on it.

Same here. The 3-24 March is very short also but the 1.5-15 is ultra short.

Yeah, add March to your list. I also think the newer GPO compact 4-16x is worth looking at, though it isn't in the same league as the other scopes mentioned.

I'm leaning really heavily on the NX8 2.5-20x50, $1600, think I could do any better? Would rings be fine or should I go for a 20moa scope base? Think I'll have enough adjustment for ~500 yards with rings and the MIL-XT reticle?

It’s less than 4mrad of adjustment with most bullets. If you run out of adjustment something is very wrong.

I have that scope on a SP-10 in 6.5C and it is a great fit. With a 20moa mount I have 23.3 MRAD of adjustment available. I only need 8.2 to get to 1000yds. Even with 0 moa you will be able to dial to the extreme limits of a 308 16"
