Accuracy International Picture Thread

Having just gone through this:

1. The AW imuns extends too far into the chassis and blocks the use of the small forwardmost skin screw by about 1/4”-1/8”(not really an issue and easy fix if you cut some clearance)
2. The AW imuns is not tapped for QD cups
3. This seems to be back and forth, but a factory AI barrel is not free floated in an AT with the AW imuns because the top piece of the IMUNS ends up clamping down onto the barrel. I had some 2mm spacers 3d printed to fit the form of the IMUNS and no longer have this issue.
Doesnt seem so bad. All 3 sound fairly easily fixed to use the AW IMUNS. Might pick one up if I ever get a clip on in the future before all this is no longer made.

IMUNS were discontinued already.

yup, this is the only place that has em and where I'd end up getting it. making my decision today.

Starting a couple new projects. I just finished putting the IMUNS on my SA chassis.

Remove the 8mm roll pin and bipod stud. With straight blade screwdriver wedged between the spigot and fore end frame (using the round bipod stud opening), push the spigot forward. A rubber disc between the spigot and sling mount holds the sling mount in place and keeps it from rattling.

Putting the Arctic Warefare thread to shame. 🫡
lol well 16* is Arctic as far as TN is concerned just like people in FL dress like eskimos when it gets under 50.

But I was surprised how easy it was to operate with ski gloves. I only had to take the glove off to take pics with the iPhone.

I left the gun and ammo outside most of yesterday and again last night just to test h1000 velocity. Going to chrono some more today

Looks like that French FRF2 with its integrated bipod for high/low angle shooting. More flexible use but less ultimate stability. I guess the AI shooters are French, so I suppose that bipod makes sense to them, like “doctrinally” or whatever.

Loading the bipod would be somewhat difficult I would think

A little bit of short range fun (1423 yrds) with the 33xc barrel today.

Funny, I was just talking with another member here yesterday who also runs a 33XC barrel in his AXMC with a single shot sled, now thinking I need one as well. I already have a 300PRC barrel for my AXMC, and have been thinking about doing either 300 or 338 Norma but decided either of them wasn't enough of a performance increase over the 300PRC to justify purchasing the barrel/brass/mags. 33XC on the other hand seems to be a significant jump up in performance and looks worth the cost and effort. I know the 33XC will be single load only, but that's OK by me. How's it working for you?

Its a nice cartridge and I have had hits out to 2800 with it using 300gr smk's, I am not sure if I will continue since barrel life is relatively short as far as match accuracy goes. The barrel in the picture went south during last weekends match but it is still fun to play with out to around 1400. I now have my 300NM barrel back on and will use it for this season of matches. The 300NM rocks when using 245 bergers at 3050fps.

Been playing with the Grey Ops 6GT AW mag in my AT-X. So far, I'm 50 for 50 without having a feeding issue...which is way better than what I was getting for reliability out of the two factory mags I've got. Still, 50 rounds isn't enough to brag about yet. However, it is making me like the 6GT again in my rifle.

I started to try to make another shitty video of my shooting over the course of the afternoon, but got tasked with 'honey dos' partway though. However, the wifey decided to hang out with me later on and do some shooting of her own with the rifle. She did great (about 1.25 MOA @ 650) considering the wind had picked up. I tried my best to call wind for her, but it was a constant shift between .4 right and .4 left mostly headwind.

^ Don't be jealous of my impromptu spotter setup. 😆

Mirage sucked, but I got lucky with the first 5 rounds trying to remember my dial up.

Then I tried 5 more after coming down a tenth. I missed a couple slight speed changes, and the target told me so. I have zero excuse...the mirage was potent today.

I know this crap is heresy to the die-hards here, but the only guy I'm ever competing against these days is me.

That’s like, what, tree-fiddy total?

Proly closer to tree-fiddy-oh-oh🤣 Who makes a semi free free hate?

"The main challenge with PHOENIX-S was to engineer a solution that would prove robust and reliable when used with 0.338” and 0.5” Semi-Automatic and Bolt Action Weapons, along with ensuring boresight retention, and the ability to adapt the system for Extended Range Engagements (ERE) out past 2km. Extensive development work analysing high speed shock data captured from a range of weapon systems, coupled with proprietary shock analysis and modelling capability has resulted in a mechanical design construction that significantly reduces the amount of weapon shock that is transferred directly to the PHOENIX-S Thermal Core, Optics and Electronics. This in turn ensures that boresight retention is achieved, and overall system MTBF is improved over similar products using Cooled MWIR cores. The ERE capability is achieved by compensating the sight orientation via a simplistic control."
