Tripod sandbag question

Hey guys, for those of you that run an attached sandbag on top of your tripod like the cole-tac for instance, do you run it with or without a head?

I'm sure it's prob possible run it with a head but it seems like that would be weight for nothing.

Do you really need the ball feature when you have a flexible sandbag?

Can you attach something like this directly to the tripod without a head and is it a good idea?

Take the head off and put the bag on the legs only. Not only is it heavier, but the ball gets in the way.

I use a tac table and just toss the bag on there.

For 3-gun I'll take the head off and put the bag on the leg opening. Depends on what the rules are for your sport, really. If you have to start with all gear in hand then lighter is easier.

Pull head and run bag on Tripod Apex. A tac table and whatever connection the tax table to Apex are just more wobble points, the higher you get above Apex vertically, the less stable.

I just drop a game changer over the head, because I'm not taking the head off for whatever reason I don't want to just lock into it.
