We’re talking bout thread protectors dawg?Yeah, I’m sure that’s it. There’s other people on this same page of the thread with the same issues of the LOP collapsing and worthless thread protector. All 3 on the wall at my LGS have the same slop in the hinge. But yeah, it’s just me. Keep living in your fairy tail land where this is an excellent rifle.
Has anyone got a Cross in the 277 Fury? If so, enquiring minds want to know all about it.
Yeah, Straight Jacket Armory , maybe Proof, but you have to supply the barrel extension.I want to know when I can convert mine to 277. Sig sells the +p bolt but I have yet to see any barrels.

I talked with a SIG representative at an event sponsored by the LGS. There was a SIG Spear in .277 on the table. I asked about the availability of the bimetal ammunition. He told me that a couple of cases would cost about $2000! I didn't ask how many rounds per case but my guess is it's probably 200 rounds. So at $2000 for 400 rounds it's right up there with .338LM.Yeah, Straight Jacket Armory , maybe Proof, but you have to supply the barrel extension.![]()

I think I will pursue my project for a .338LM build.
Mine REALLY loves the 175gr Federal Terminal Ascent rounds and does well with the 175GMM, if you haven’t tried them.Joining the fray. I love my Cross .308. I bought it after fighting with my X-bolt 300WM 26" while hiking. After going through almost a dozen types of off-the-shelf ammo, I was able to finally find some that was sub-moa (Sig Elite series 165gr, E308AB16520). I'm hoping that Backfire Jim is correct, and reloading will get even better results. I'm guessing this is the place to post load data and results for fellow nerds.
I've used the 200gr TA in my 300WM with good results. Thank you for the suggestion!Mine REALLY loves the 175gr Federal Terminal Ascent rounds and does well with the 175GMM, if you haven’t tried them.
The Terminal Ascent rds are also devastating on soft tissue if you hunt.
