New Sig CROSS

Strike industries developed a new handguard for the Sig Cross. No need to remove the scope to take it off.

FF to 1:49

Its available now. This is a no brainer for the price especially compared to the sig arca upgrade for $300.

Yeah, I’m sure that’s it. There’s other people on this same page of the thread with the same issues of the LOP collapsing and worthless thread protector. All 3 on the wall at my LGS have the same slop in the hinge. But yeah, it’s just me. Keep living in your fairy tail land where this is an excellent rifle.
We’re talking bout thread protectors dawg? 🤣

I've been toying with the idea of building a 300 or 338 Norma off of my Cross Magnum in 300 WM. The bolt head dimensions appear to be nearly identical to those of my RPR in 338LM (although the bolt face is a little more recessed from the front of the lugs on the RPR).

Curious if anyone out there has done this? Or if there are any suggestions for a smith to talk to about this?

I want to know when I can convert mine to 277. Sig sells the +p bolt but I have yet to see any barrels.
Yeah, Straight Jacket Armory , maybe Proof, but you have to supply the barrel extension. 🙁🙁🙁
I talked with a SIG representative at an event sponsored by the LGS. There was a SIG Spear in .277 on the table. I asked about the availability of the bimetal ammunition. He told me that a couple of cases would cost about $2000! I didn't ask how many rounds per case but my guess is it's probably 200 rounds. So at $2000 for 400 rounds it's right up there with .338LM.

I think I will pursue my project for a .338LM build.

Joining the fray. I love my Cross .308. I bought it after fighting with my X-bolt 300WM 26" while hiking. After going through almost a dozen types of off-the-shelf ammo, I was able to finally find some that was sub-moa (Sig Elite series 165gr, E308AB16520). I'm hoping that Backfire Jim is correct, and reloading will get even better results. I'm guessing this is the place to post load data and results for fellow nerds.

Mine REALLY loves the 175gr Federal Terminal Ascent rounds and does well with the 175GMM, if you haven’t tried them.

The Terminal Ascent rds are also devastating on soft tissue if you hunt.

Anyone tried out the Sawtooth in 6.5cm, preferably the 18” version? Bought an original cross for my 2nd son, and honestly wasn’t that impressed with the accuracy. Good enough, but felt it would have greatly benefited from a better barrel. 3rd son is now ready for his “grown up” rifle and looking hard at this Sawtooth with a proof as an option.
