What is ATF wait time for a suppressor?

It really makes zero sense on the timing of any of these. The first 2 I put in a couple of weeks ago I'm still waiting on. All of the 3 that have been approved were put in after 2 that I am still waiting on. Zero rhyme or reason.
Definitely doesn’t make sense. My two last Thursday were submitted within a minute of each other, approved two days apart. Still approved very quickly and such a huge improvement over my last ones a couple of years ago but still lots of varying times. I assume different people get each file but it just seems if a person has multiple applications they’d approve all of them at the same time. But, we know that's not how the government works. Saying that, overall they are getting approved vey quick now.

They are much faster for sure. My first can many years ago took 14 months. I got spoiled with the 2 - 3 day approvals of just a couple of months ago. Just wish there was some form of tracker to see where the hold up was.

I put 2 in at 2 different places weeks apart….the 2nd submission cleared before the first BUT the 1st cleared later that afternoon….never know.

Have 2 others in the tube…see how it all shakes out.

I got my 2 oldest back yesterday, still waiting on the most recent to get approved. But even that one was certified on 2/25, so over a week. It is so unbelievably better than it used to be, but still zero rhyme or reason to the approval timings.

I received MY suppressor yesterday . #41 days start to finish with Spouse on Trust . Had a day delay on Photo ,as they apparently don't approve of camo tee shirt attire . Switched shirts to a plain white polo and BINGO accepted (y)

Do the majority of you ,purchase directly from a LGS or Internet specialty NFA affiliated direct dealer ?.

Not knowing squat as to which suppressors are best or most versatile ,I went with a Banish .30 and adpts .

What do you think of the newer printed porous designs ?. What about ones which incorporate inconel blast baffle and SS discs ?.

I’m coming up on 9 months (submitted in June) on a “traditional” trust with just myself as Trustee (for now…)

I’ve called, emailed, and have no idea why they haven't been approved, when many others with a traditional trust are taking much less time…
I was about the same on mine. I called he looked at it, and said wow dont know why they haven't looked at it. Told me still processing. Got off the phone, received and email 1 min later. It was approved! Don't know what is going on there.

I’ve done mine through Silencer Shop affiliated stores doing an individual eForm….once the initial fingerprints, passport photo, and forms are filled out it’s too easy to get a can….I’ve upgraded all of my 14-15 year old units.

As was stated earlier, the shipping takes the longest if your dealer doesn’t have what you want in stock…Form 3’s were in hours.

You ask about the new tech? My original YHM 7.62 stainless Phantom weighs 34oz with muzzle adapter….the TBAC Ultra 9 Gen 2 I upgraded to weighs 12oz!!!

The 3D printing does things that no wire edm, CNC, etc, can ever do….enjoy!
