Thanks for that.

Are those issues you are having with Proof specific to gas guns only?

With Proof specifically, the quality of work has substantially gone down. The chambering work that I've seen in that last few barrels I've borescoped looked like they used a broken reamer.

Along with the quality of their work going down their customer service was difficult to say the least.

I posted this in the GAP10 forum as well but, still haven't had any responses. Anybody seen this happen to a BCG? Rifle belongs to a friend of mine who is having a hell of a time with this issue. This is borescope video through the tail end of a gap10 bcg it's one of the ones built on the seekins receivers. Almost looks like a bushing is in there where the firing pin should rest. When the "bushing" for lack of a better term is slid back the firing pin retaining pin will not fit behind the firing pin and the rifle will not function. I've never seen this happen but I don't own any seekins or GAP10's. Do any of yours do this?

The only thing that I can think of is the collar on the firing pin sheared off from the shaft. Is he the original owner, and has there been any overpressure events or pierced primers? What does the firing pin look like, and is it the original FP?

Sorry to revamp an old thread. Do you know if a jp high pressure bolt head will fit in a Seekins sp-10 bolt carrier group? I ask because I am going to get a proof barrel and they headspace to jp bolts for my 6.5 creed. Thanks

IIRC the OEM Seekins SP10 BCG is Armalite Pattern, the Bolt will fit but it's the floating JP DPMS firing pin that's the issue.

With the absence of the Armalite Springed Fring Pin the JP FirinpiPin and Seekins Carrier allows even more room for the JP pin to gain momentum with chambering and strike the primer, that idea has always made me a bit nervous.

I haven't seen any new Seekins BCGs lately so I can't recall the firing pin diameter, if your lucky Seekins has also switched to the same profile and diameter as the JP HP Bolts.

If not I would either buy another DPMS style Carrier, there are several quality. 308 Carrier that can be purchased cheap, or I would recontour the Seekins Firing Pin to be compatible with the JP Bolt.

I have a JP HP bolt in my SP10 6.5cm. No issues other than the SP10 chewing up the bolt similar to the image in the OP. I think mine has a little less wear but it’s only has 1160 round total on the bolt.
