Powder IN-STOCK thread

Did anyone order the 85gr from American and not get them?? I ordered 2500 of them when they had plenty in stock.. they just told me their inventory was wrong and don't have any. Bummed these were something I was really needing.. they did ask if there was anything else I wanted and are sending me 6mm 107smk as replacement..

I ordered one box and got it. They have done this to me on other bullets. They were good on crediting fir different bullets and who doesn't need different bullets :p

First time that's happened to me. But they offered a refund or other bullets. Oh well. 224 85s are what I shoot in 22BR. Don't see those often

Sure. I bet they are Barnes 85 Match Burners or Nosler 85gr RDF..

they looks completely different so should be obvious.. RDF are long and sleek.. matchburners have a much longer bearing surface and fat like a football...

I ordered one box to try and they arrived but have not shot them yet.

The bullets do not look like a Match Burner or the RDF, as I have both in my stash. The 85 RDF shoots amazing from one of my 223 rifles and am hoping for the same out of these.

That's odd because I dont know of any other 224 85gr out there.. the next closest thing would be a berger 85.5... but that's not 85gr..

I just measured an 85 RDF, BTO is 0.652"

There is another company out there making 85s, but I can't find them online. From what I remember, they were making 22 Creed or 22BR ammo with crazy BC numbers. I wonder if it is their product.

Based on the AR title "Match Varmint" I thought they were the Mead 85gr, but they list their OAL as 1.129, so I guess it's not them.


DANG IT, missed the H4895 at AR. That would have been nice.

They aren't, they are the new style factory pointed and look great. Super happy about these!

I was hesitant for this reason.

Wish I would’ve ordered some. Now they’re out of stock.

I took the chance on 1000ct then they emailed saying they messed up inventory on my 224 85gr order so they replaced them with another 1000ct 107s and then I ordered another 4 boxes...

I took a chance and they measure in length exactly to my factory 107smk's I have here, factory pointed new style and no gouges or anything. Great deal

That's good to hear. I was hesitant to buy some but gave in and ordered the last 5 boxes. They should be on the way to me soon. Hopefully it won't get caught in an order snafu like you had.

You really striked out on that recent h4895 purchase. I have literally been waiting months to find it and missed the sale by maybe 45 minutes.

I'm debating if to try benchmark from brownells. With free hazmat and 10% off comes out to like ~$430ish to my door.

You think that's a good deal? I'm still thinking about it.
