    How to verify anemometer accuracy?

So I'm making due on a student's budget and I bought a cheap anemometer. I was just wondering what the best way of verifying the accuracy would be. I thought maybe holding it out of a car window, but I don't know if the aerodynamics would cause the wind speed to be different than the car...

Best use of money for training

Thanks for the great reply... I've already been reloading for a month though :). Haven't noticed an accuracy improvement (FGMM was consistent 3/8 moa) but it is definitely cheaper! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

Sidearms & Scatterguns Accuracy for IDPA

Interesting, but how do you determine what the right balance is? All C and up hits? All A hits? All hits period?

Sidearms & Scatterguns Accuracy for IDPA

I'm looking to buy a steel shooting tree. I only shot groups today because it is my first time shooting pistol in over a year and I wanted to see what my reloads were doing.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Accuracy for IDPA

Well that was the spread for 30+ shots. 5 rounds groups were about 2.5" on average.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Accuracy for IDPA

Thanks for the reply. Do you think I should focus more on building speed and controlling recoil then?

Sidearms & Scatterguns Accuracy for IDPA

Hello everyone, I haven't shot handguns much in the last year or so due to price (and focusing on rifle), but I just got into reloading and I'm looking into doing some local IDPA matches. I went out to the range and shot 60 9mm (Didn't load any more since it was my first time loading 9mm and I...

    Seating Depth Variation

Well I just shot a match and the accuracy was still good, but the trajectory was very low. It matched the trajectory for about 2400 fps. I am using a 20" barrel, but 42.9 gr of 4064 should push a 175 SMK closer to 2600+. Not sure what happened Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

    Seating Depth Variation

They are 175 SMKs. How much should I expect this to affect accuracy? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

    Seating Depth Variation

Yes I resized first. I am measuring from ogive. I did not use a copper bore brush, but I did use a nylon brush to make sure the necks were clean. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

    Seating Depth Variation

So I'm new to reloading and I'm having an issue with my seating depth having a .005 variation. Is this a big deal? I'm using unfired lapua cases. I did not have this problem with once fired cases. It seemed like some of the cases took more pressure to seat, is this from variations in neck...

    Choosing a load

Horizontal spread is the main thing to look for though, right? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

    Choosing a load

Yea, but the group in the middle was almost perfect vertically, I just loaded the wrong charge weight on the shot that hit low. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

    Choosing a load

I'm shooting a remington and I loaded to 2.800" COAL so I'm sure I was jumping quite a bit. I don't feel comfortable messing around with seating depth until I know I'm not going to mess up big.

    Choosing a load

Hogdon has their max load at 45.6, but Sierra has it at like 43.1. I don't have a chrono. I'm using a 20" barrel. I'm guessing that 43.7 puts me around 2650.

    Choosing a load

I didn't see any pressure signs? Should I load up some past 44gr?

    Choosing a load

I decided to just keep it as simple as possible since I am brand new to reloading. I just shot all 5 of each group together. I made sure to keep the barrel from overheating though. 43.7 seems to be in the middle of two other good groups.

    Choosing a load

Hey guys, So I just got reloading equipment a few days ago. I was able to load up 5 rounds of 8 different loads. I'm interested in exactly how I should choose which one's to do further testing on. I used 175 SMK (.308) with IMR 4064, lapua brass, and winchester primers. 2.8" COAL. All groups...
