Big Idaho coyote and his handy work.

Ok, finish braggin' on your build :) What are the full specs? How much of it did you do yourself? The whole thing at PPR? How long is your longest shot on a 'yote with it so far?

    Building my first precision 308

6.5CM ammo availability and price could be as much a consideration as the build budget. If you are doing it right, you will spend more money on the rounds you put through it than you will on the rifle that shoots them!

Shout Out To Pacific Tool and Guage

I'll add a +1 here. These guys are a class act. I'm still Geeking out how a couple of renders and a discussion on the 'hide became the Anderson knob. Which they actually made. And sell. A few years later and a few part orders down the line, I've never had a bad experience with PTG.

    Not Bedding my XLR/Stiller?

Doing some end of winter tune up work on my rifle. Upgrading the trigger, different base, better rings. Just some things that a season of getting behind this stick have helped me realize I can make different choices that might suit me a little better on my "I did it myself" budget build before...

    Ceracoated bolt

I had one done, the one down side that I didn't like is that cerakote is pretty thick by the time its applied. it should NOT be applied to the inside of the action AND the bolt. One or the other. It gets rubbed off pretty quick from lug contact areas, a few areas of the bolt handle, and...

My first rifle paint - COMPLETED!

Indeed, I actually taped the grip and the cheekpiece to keep them from being sprayed. I personally am not a huge fan of the feel of enamel on the parts that I will be making contact with primarily.

My first rifle paint - COMPLETED!

My first self-done paint job. I still wish I could have used OnTarget Customs - I love ARP's work, he has done a great job for me in the past - but that simply ended up not being an option, mostly for marital reasons. Intended for use in the high plains of Colorado. Stiller 308 action, XLR...

GAP Templar V II receiver photographs in the white

It really is a beautiful bit of work. George should be really proud of this product and the fruit of the relationship with defiance.

    Remington wins the PSR,

I got to hold the Barrett entry into the tests, just happened to be in AJ's shop at bighorn arms one day when it was there with one of the guys in the shop. Its a beautiful gun, fit and craftsmanship on that one was superb. And I like that if you REALLY want one, you can theoretically go out...

Stiller / XLR Evolution - 308 LA Shorty Build

Had to re-post the thread, as the original contained significant errors, since remedied. I wanted to build a short 308 build, for paper and elk, plus the occasional 'yote or prairie dog. The reciever is a Stiller Lonestar special-run action. It is identical to the Tac300 but uses the older...

New Miniseries coming up on the History Channel

Without violating the religion rules on here, there is a new miniseries making it to the History channel soon that looks pretty interesting. http://www.thebibleminiseries.com/ Unlike a lot of the shows filmed around these themes, this one seems to have a pretty significant budget, and the...

Need some info on a Remington 40-X

Harris are pretty good. You can drop a lot of money for something like an Atlas bipod, but lets face it, you should buy what you need. And a harris or even a UTG would probably meet your needs (and then some) plus save you some coin over the top tier stuff guys on here like.

Gunsmithing 1911 Colt Combat Commander upgrade suggestions

I would be VERY careful doing modifications to a carry gun. While they are neat, make sure you can articulate, under pressure, why each one was needed in a way that is related to its function and safety. Lawsuits are silly, but if you don't think of the after-the-shot now, its too late to do...

    Sponsor Dashboard Page

Sorry for the delay in addressing this. In reading my original message, certainly I would say the clarity is in question :D So the idea is this, really two ideas: Item 1: On the more general snipers hide site as a content page with a link off the home page is a "sponsors" page. A kind of...

I am out of good ammo, anyone know where I can find some .308 168 or 175gr

You know, as hard as it is to find ammo right now, I just decided to support a 'hide sponsor. I can hunt for stuff that will be hit or miss quality and "settle" very expensively on whatever I happen to find - whether its what I want or not. Or I can work with a hide sponsor, wait the same...

    Which way should i go

buy a 700 in 243, 260, or 308. Get out and shoot it. As you get money and ide tify things through your experience that supplement your shooting, upgrade components. The remington sps tactical AAC rifle is a superb start. add a respectable base and rings, and a viper vortex PST.
