Help me breathe some new life into my old Model 7!

The only issue I have is my barrel is heavy. (I don’t recall profile) It is Ok for going to a deer stand but not walking for elk. If you don’t go with a carbon fiber, you may want to research getting a custom profile barrel. Thinner and then up to min diam needed to have 5/8 thread needed for...

Help me breathe some new life into my old Model 7!

6.5 (or 260 rem) with 129ABLR, new barrel, true and bed the action. (Or put it in a chassis) New trigger - could do later if budget is an issue. mine went from 1.5 to 2” groups to 3/8” groups. It is a very accurate rifle. Model 7 actions are AWSOME!

6mm Rem Model Seven youth, rebarrel or conversion?

maybe I’m missing something, but measure the mag and see what COAL is needed for the bullets of interest. Also you should be able to just seat the bullet deeper to meet what ever length your mag can take. (You just lose powder capacity.) Or you could make up a dummy round and try to feed it.

6mm Rem Model Seven youth, rebarrel or conversion?

I put a new barrel on a model 7 260R and love it! Even with appropriate bullets I couldn’t get moa from the pencil barrel. Very accurate with new barrel. If you reload and already have the components I would stay with 6 mm Remington. It is a good round. If you aren’t reloading, then change to...

Night Vision Loaner and scanner thermal need

That is what I’m thinking. How wide? Stay at 35 or go lower? Low power - how low? 1? 2? 4 or 5 is too high I think? There are so many options out there…

Night Vision Loaner and scanner thermal need

I have an older (no internal recording, memory, saving zero, etc) IR Defense 35mm and NV but since my wife freaks if I go by myself and on occasion a property owner will want to go with me, I need a loaner for a guest. I would also use it as a scanner when no guest is present. I hunt pigs and...

Begrudgingly, I’m looking to get back to reloading and right now specifically looking at electronic powder dispensers

68 isn’t old…1954 was a good year! you don’t say what you do, how much you shoot, or what you can spend. I’m 68 and deer hunt, prairie dog shoot, hog hunt, coyote hunt, take grandkids hunting, and compete on occasion. If you shoot a lot, get an autotrickler /thrower. It saves SO much time! And...

Hunting & Fishing Hunting pistol optic questions

Based on my experience I would go with a 44 mag, added rail, and an RMR. I say this because in theory you can (and I guess some really can) shoot 100 yds with a scoped pistol. But in FIELD hunting conditions, I sure couldn’t! I don’t push past 50 yards and a red dot is good for that. Does...

    Rifle Scopes Swarovski Z6 scopes...Durability??

I have a Z6i 3-18 BT and love it. Great glass and I ride around with it in my Rhino SxS. I have never lost zero or had an issue. Fall on occasion, yep. (The doctor asks this and I reply the way I hunt, yes I fall down!😂) mine is the older model with a small lever that turns the illumination on...

Are you happy where you live?

I had been but it is changing rapidly. We are in South Louisiana and crime is going up quickly. Currently staying due to great neighborhood with grandkids near by. If Airforce pilot son in law settles somewhere nice in a few years we will definitely consider a move. Grandkids close are a big...

Best home defense is no suppressor? / zero distance

LOL. Figured I might get something like that. Honest question since I really would like my SBR out and with me. just looking for ideas…

Best home defense is no suppressor? / zero distance

Ok, I have read the thread but may have missed it. Many seem to like the option of SBR with or without a suppressor. As I understand it SBRs and suppressors have to under your control or locked up. So if leaving one next to your bed, do you lock it up when you leave the house? Or take it with...

    Which backup-handgun for hunting?

how would I decide? I guess by posting on gun forums😂, but seriously, the number of rounds, how quick you can get back on target, and will it stop the threat. I don’t have a 357 sig, so I am not familiar with the recoil, but I do have a 44 mag and Glock 20. Personally I’d go for more rounds and...

    Suppressors AAC is accepting repairs

I will talk to ECCO when I get there in the queue, but ECCO shows an adaptor for the CB on their website. It attaches to the standard 1.375x24 thread. thanks!

    Suppressors AAC is accepting repairs

That is what I am doing. On the waiting list already. When I said “replace it”, I meant send to ECCO. I’ll go with a TBAC CB adaptor since my other suppressors are ultras.
