    Rifle Scopes Quality scope ring???

I like Seekins rings but I typically buy TPS because I am always lookin to save a buck. Still a good quality ring. Aadland Engineering also makes some really stout rings, but I have never tried them. I've used Warne in the past, but prefer other options to their vertical split design.

    Rifle Scopes Viper PST EBR-2C

Depends on which model PST. I've own/owned a few and across the two 4-16x models I got the optics were not up to snuff compared to the rest of the PST line. I ended up selling and returning to vendor. For the price the scopes gives a good balance to the end user and that's what the PST line...

    Rifle Scopes Viper PST EBR-2C

I've had one and really enjoy it, great value... Optically better than the 4-16 FFP PST I used to have. I'm with Sharpshooter... I also noticed they value engineered it and got rid of the rubber power ring which I really like.

Rifle Scopes SWFA 12X vs SWFA 3-15X

Fair enough, target size makes a huge difference. Most of my steel is generally 1 MOA or larger at those distances which is probably why i'm just fine with 10x. You will love the 5-20... that's going to be a nice upgrade for the 260.

Rifle Scopes SWFA 12X vs SWFA 3-15X

All the specs are on the SWFA website... Both the fixed 10x and 12x have parallax adjustment... both are adjustable from 10 meters to infinity. The 3-15x lowest is at 6 meters. My personal opinion... if you can afford the 3-15x, and don't mind owning a fixed power scope... I would strongly...

Rifle Scopes SWFA 12X vs SWFA 3-15X

The older scopes looked to have a traditional mil-dot, but the new reticles, common across almost all of the mil/mil SWFA line is using their mil-quad. The core scope looks to be identical, and still based on the HD line of optic made in Japan. The most current version of the 3-9x does not...

Rifle Scopes SWFA 12X vs SWFA 3-15X

Read this... SWFA SS 3-9x42 review by Mike Miller - The Optics Talk Forums - Page 1 Looking at the turret construction its a dead give away... It shares more similarities to my 5-20 SS HD and fixed 10 HD than my fixed 10 non HD.

Rifle Scopes SWFA 12X vs SWFA 3-15X

I'm not surprised by your experience... I haven't personally used the SS 3-9x scope, but others I know who have also report the same thing and talk highly about the 3-9x model. From what I understand the SS 3-9x is based on their HD line, not the standard non HD scopes.

Rifle Scopes SWFA 12X vs SWFA 3-15X

I run their fixed 10x non HD, and I like it better than the 3-15x. I find the glass to be a little better and brighter but its not going to make or break either optic. I never used the fixed 12x. I agree with the above poster, the 5-20x HD is fantastic. If you can hold out for one of...

Looking to re-chamber... Short Action Remington 700 - What to do?

Excellent post, thank you. At one point in time I expressed interest in the 6XC so thanks for reminding me; I will re-visit that option. Ill have to do my due diligence and make an excel sheet with various loading options and bullet types to see what's really going to work out best for me...

Looking to re-chamber... Short Action Remington 700 - What to do?

Thanks for the .260 recommendation. And I was in fact thinking of getting the .223 rifle rechambered. My "plan" was to have a smith do some work on the action and I would probably end up buying a new bolt with a .308 boltface to accommodate whatever I decided to use. My 308 rifle is shooting...

Looking to re-chamber... Short Action Remington 700 - What to do?

.243 Win is also a consideration, I have a hunting rifle in that caliber, but it gets little to no use. How is barrel life with the when compared to the others, including 6.5 CM?

Looking to re-chamber... Short Action Remington 700 - What to do?

What is the process to correctly form .308 brass into 6.5 creedmoor brass? Just use a 6.5 CM FL sizing die, or am I missing a step in between?

Looking to re-chamber... Short Action Remington 700 - What to do?

I currently have two Remington 700's, one in 223 and the other is a 308. Both SPS Tactical 20" models. I purchased the 223 to compliment the 308 for the purpose of being a learning platform since components are more affordable which allowed me to do high volume match ammo reloading. Its...

Rifle Scopes Vortex Razor 1x6 lack of FFP an issue?

My post was in defense of the FFP in low power scopes... And my experience is limited to the SWFA 1-6x... At 1x, the subtensions really are too small for me to see, BUT, it presents me with a completely different reticle which is more appropriate for shooting at 1x. I didn't mean to make a...

RCBS precision mic and headspace help

Pretty much correct on both counts... but fired cases are not exact to your chamber, but they are VERY close... It usually takes a few neck sized firings to really form that case to the chamber where you have a nice stiff bolt close. It really depends on how hot that load was, and the...

RCBS precision mic and headspace help

Forget about the unfired cases, they have zero relevance in what you are trying to achieve... Only measure the fired cases, and setup the die accordingly. Best results come from brass which have been fire-formed multiple times. I generally neck size and fire 2-3 times and keep those cases as...

Rifle Scopes Vortex Razor 1x6 lack of FFP an issue?

I also like FFP on low power variable optics IF the reticle was designed correctly... No ones uses the hold over points at 1x, its small, but if the reticle becomes a small dot and not cluttered with crosshairs it really helps draw the eye into the center. And at 6x, still has traditional...

New 308 Win Load - 155gr Bullet Options vs 168 Amax?

Thanks for the post. Using the H4895 powder and a 20" barrel, does anyone know what the upper velocity limits one can expect out of the 168gr Amax and 155 Lapua bullets might be? My 168 Amax are running 2550 and im not sure how much more headroom I have. I'm not that great at reading pressure...

New 308 Win Load - 155gr Bullet Options vs 168 Amax?

I am currently loading for a Remington 700 SPS Tactical 1:12 twist... my existing load is using a Hornady 168gr Amax with H4895 powder. I am using 41.5gr and getting about 2550 FPS. The 168 amax has a G7 BC of .230 I was looking to make a new load using the 155gr bullet weight using the...
