Gunsmithing .300 black out build. Adjustable gas block or not?

Suppressed sometimes says to go with an adjustable block. If you shoot mostly subs suppressed, you can get away with a few supers. But running supers mostly set up for subs suppressed, big time wear. Now if you plan on shooting only subs, sometimes suppressed and mostly not, I'd not bother...

Scientific reasons for waiting to get the COVID vaccine

What medical source did you lift that definition from E. Bryant? Just curious.

    Essential gear for new guy?

Almost every time I go to practice, I chrono a few loads. Helps the barrel tell me when it needs to be cleaned. Also helps me make sure it returns to normal after the refouling. Also helps me to get my temperature sensitivity. Yep, an essential tool to be used often. When we see many King...

Scientific reasons for waiting to get the COVID vaccine

"Vaccine" has a definition accepted within the scientific and medical fields. The experimental drug for CV does not, by any measure, meet the definition. Liberals love to change the meaning of words to fit their agenda. But when you attempt to alter accepted definitions based on values...

Scientific reasons for waiting to get the COVID vaccine

Factually, it is not a vaccine. It is an experimental immune booster that does not work as well as having the actual CV. But better than nothing for those who are old with co-morbidities.

    Essential gear for new guy?

I'd just go take a class. Many have loaner rifles ammo and gear.

Need some help building second AR15

Yes. I was not responding to you, but to the OP.

    Subsonic .22lr cost

Aguila Super Extra Subs were in the range of 12 to 13 cents a few years ago. 15 to 18 cents a round now (non-gouging) if you can find it. The price might be higher since 7M rounds of it were hi-jacked in Mexico that was slated for the US Markets.

    The AR15 Picture Thread

Just finished putting an Atlas and a Burris RT15 in a Warne mount on Hunter's rifle. He built it when he was 12 for 3Gun, but I took off the AR1X and made these changes for him to shoot the SAC in September, just a few weeks after he finishes Basic Combat Training at Ft. Sill.

Need some help building second AR15

Nope. No castle nut or locking plate on a Rifle buffer tube. The stock is compressed by the screw through the rear of the stock in the buffer tube so that the retainer nub on the front of the stock prevents rotation.

Gunsmithing Loctite 680 for AR barrel install

Good for picking a product that actually works on passivated metals. However, you also bought an upper made of 7075. There is absolutely no need for a retaining compound unless the barrel extension to upper extension is loose, then you would be better off thermofitting. But I doubt that will...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Can’t decide on HD pistol (Cz)

I'd go with a CZP09, well, I did. With a Cajun trigger in them, if you want to go that way, amazing. I have the Cajunized one I use for matches and one stock with a WML for HD and a CZP07 in the carry rotation.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Benelli SBE 3 Vs Beretta A400?

Fit is important, and both have that covered with the shims and spacers, so that is irrelevant. The A400 is probably the best Clay gun, but realize that there are a LOT of models and variations even within those. Softer on recoil, which matters when you are shooting over 100 targets a day...

WTF? The Marines shouting this pride shit now?

From the Biden admin. Rank and file, sure some are going to fall in line. But I have some hope most won't do anything but nod off in their "diversity" class and just keep being an American.

Precision Light Weight Mountain Rifles - Picture Thread

I am looking at your photo thinking, man, that sure is a pencil barrel...then I realized the barrel was not yet on it. Spuhr mounts rock, but that is a lot of weight. Have you considered something like the Hawkins Hybrids? Rock solid and only a few ounces.

    Recoil and POI

Direct Impingement systems (AR15 DI) have 4 recoil impulses, which is why they are harder (not impossible) to get to the accuracy level of bolt guns that have one. Yes, most of that movement happens after the bullet has cleared the barrel. And yes, most of that is affecting the fundamentals of...

You shut yer mouth! I am going to end up with one of those eventually. Just too trick to not get one.

    Which should I choose?

I have a Wilderness Terrain and my son has a HMR, both in 6.5CM. Around $1000, pick your poison. They have other choices as well. With stocks being so personal, if you love the chassis your .30-06 is in, you could get a Bergara or Howa barreled action and just drop it in.

    Which should I choose?

Of what you listed, Christiansen. I'll follow the herd though, because their comments are valid. Look at a Tikka or a Bergara. Both have fanboys, but both have a good value and will last you for a long time. The tip for me goes to Bergara due to customer service and company values, but a...

Precision Light Weight Mountain Rifles - Picture Thread

Nice looking rig. You should drop under 10# by changing out the optic and mount. Still seems a tad heavy, but it is a Magnum action. NRLHunter says 12# is the division between light and heavy, but IMHO, Mountain rifles, scoped, should be 8 pounds or less. My "Mountain" rifle I use for Elk is...
