Official (DTA) SRS, HTI, Covert, Hunter Thread

Re: Idea! Official DTA SRS, HTI, Covert, Hunter Thread sr90...have you guys already tested all four caliber options? Just curious if your feedback is relative to all four options you tested or just really positive impression of the 375 so far? And is there one thing specifically that stands...

Official (DTA) SRS, HTI, Covert, Hunter Thread

Re: Idea! Official DTA SRS, HTI, Covert, Hunter Thread So originally I was fixated on the 50bmg for the new HTI coming up in q4...but when I picked my srs up this week the guy at the gun store said 50bmg's aren't really selling anymore because there are less and less places to shoot them (at...

Official (DTA) SRS, HTI, Covert, Hunter Thread

Re: Idea! Official DTA SRS, HTI, Covert, Hunter Thread Good for you CJ. Just read a bit on the FAC and gun ownership in the UK, which sounds like a total pain. Makes me happy I live in Texas where it's harder to not own a gun than it is to own one:-)

Official (DTA) SRS, HTI, Covert, Hunter Thread

Re: Idea! Official DTA SRS, HTI, Covert, Hunter Th I was told 4-6 weeks when I ordered, but I think it ended up taking at least twice that...likely due to the misplaced order in the beginning. On the bright side, that gave me more time to get my reloading equipment ordered and they let me...

Official (DTA) SRS, HTI, Covert, Hunter Thread

Re: Idea! Official DTA SRS, HTI, Covert, Hunter Th Picked up my 338/308 today. So excited I left work two hours early to make sure it spent the night safely in my gun vault:-) Now I've just got to get my reloading gear all set up (ordered the chargemaster 1500 combo yesterday) so I can...

The switch to officer in the USMC whos done it

Re: The switch to officer in the USMC whos done it You need a 4 year degree to be a commissioned officer. You have to be done with your degree. To my knowledge there is no technical requirement on degree type, though that may have bearing on your selection to become an officer if you're...

    Austin TX range

Re: Austin TX range Just got an email from this place saying they'll be opening on July 12. Better yet, they'll have cameras for the 1000 yard range. Those won't be done day 1, but they're coming!

    Best 338LM reload??

Re: Best 338LM reload?? It'll be another month before I have all the components in place to reload...so I'm certainly not going to run out and reload just based on someone's opinion. That said, I do value the opinions of others (epecially SRS owner's) in what their experience has been. If...

    Best 338LM reload??

Any thoughts on the best reload for my DTA SRS in 338? The plan is lapua brass, 300g lapua scenar bullets, and vihtavuori n570 powder (though I'm not sure of the actual load yet)? Also...any difference between the large rifle primers? I'm a newbee to reloading, so anything specific to the...

    Home Defense Question

Re: Home Defense Question when we were looking for office space in Mexico City...they had a gun turett on top of one of the office buildings we looked at. If your neighborhood is so rough that you need the gun in the shower with you...may want to give that and a safe room some thought! On...

    Best caliber/rifle for 600-1000 yards.

Re: Best caliber/rifle for 600-1000 yards. LOL. At this point, the original poster is adding his own advice to the thread based on the 3 years of experience he now has on the matter! hahahaha

    20/50 vs 50bmg and 338LM

Re: 20/50 vs 50bmg and 338LM yes, it's a necked down 20mm with a 50 cal bullet. Looks impressive, but I don't really know anything about how well it shoots.

    Benelli M3

Any thoughts on whehter the pump/auto action of the M3 is worthwhile or if the M4 would be a better tactical shotgun? I know the pump option is made for low recoil rounds like less-than-lethal, but seems like a good backup mechanism as well? Then again...those before and after the m3 didn't...

    20/50 vs 50bmg and 338LM

Anyone thoughts on the 20/50 cartridge as a long range alternative to the 50 or 338? I have the latter and will likely have a 50 by end of year, but while I'm waiting, just looking around at other options that may or may not be better...

    50 cal bmg

Re: 50 cal bmg Totally forgot about the aiaw50...that'd be my first choice, but I think you'd be really close or over the 15k once you got it in your hands and outfitted it with an appropriate scope/etc.

    50 cal bmg

Re: 50 cal bmg If price isn't an issue and you're going for accuracy, I'd go TAC-50 just based on things I've read. And possibly the Desert Tactical HTI when it comes out in Q4 given you could also get the 375, 408, and 416 conversions. Now for pure fun I'd go with the M82A3 as a semi-auto...

Re: Idea! Official DTA SRS, HTI, Covert, Hunter Th You suck later. I haven't even received my 338/308 yet...and seeing the pic of the 600 yard impressions makes me think I couldn't possibly live without one of those too:-(

    Should I sell this???

Re: Should I sell this??? Um...if you're planning to pay off a house in 6 years, I say SELL IT, buy an MP5, buy an M107, buy some other cool stuff...and pay off the house in 7 years vs 6. I'd agree with Mike on this one. In its current configuration, what's the point? If it were an SBR...
