    Hunting & Fishing Smart money

Here is the dilema. I firearm and bow hunt. I am looking to spend some cash to up my chances on some bigger deer this fall. So, where to spend the cash to get the most benefit? Was looking at three or four game camera's. Maybe some new stands/blinds. What are some other ideas and...

    CFE-223 & Nosler 55gn Varmegeddon - Great load

Varget vs CFE accuracy wise is about like I would expect from any other powder comparison. My sons each have a RRA Operator 16" Only difference is one is a lefty model. Shooting 69 SMK's one likes Varget and the other likes CFE. On my RRA Mid Length 20" I can not tell the difference in...

Hunting & Fishing Need a new sling

I want a new sling. Just your standard two point sling, no tacticool required for this rifle. But, I don't want it sliding off my shoulder. I don't care if every shirt and jacket I have has the shoulder seam stretched to breaking. I want that sling to stay there. I have always had trouble...

Anyone using a Lee Collet with a Dillon 650 ? Having some trouble...

Yep, I run my 223 brass through twice as well. Lee decapper in one and the dillon trim die in #3 with the power trimmer on top. That also FL resizes. Into the stainless and back through again for primers, powder, and seating.

Winchester Primers in stock at Powder Valley

I have enough to last me for a couple of months, but that is good info to remember. Not so worried about that powder I ordered a couple of weeks ago now.

Winchester Primers in stock at Powder Valley

I snagged 10k LR and 500 168 SMK's. I have a bud that is primer poor, so he is gonna owe me some beer.

    Hydro Dipping?

How durable does this end up being? I don't use my rifles to hammer in tent stakes, but I don't burst into tears and run out of the woods if I bump a barrel into a tree trunk either.

    Hunting & Fishing New Glass

I have the Viper 4-16 on it now for some load development. With rings and 3 in the magazine it tips the scales just over 8.25 lbs. I have a Zeiss Conquest 3-9 ordered and as soon as I settle on the load I will be using I'll put a set of Kenton knobs on the top and side. This will save me a...

    Hunting & Fishing New Glass

I really thought I had the budget up, but I don't. Budget is around $800.00. Power would be about a 10 to 12 on the top end. 3x9 would be fine for what I need on this rifle

    Hunting & Fishing New Glass

Got a new Tikka T3 Lite that will be showing up today. Went looking on the scope shelf and all I had sitting there is a Viper PST FFP and that thing is a chunk. Was looking at Leupold, Zeis, Nikon, and Sightron for a variable scope. With the rifle weighing in at a bit under 6.25 anyone have a...

    CFE-223 & Nosler 55gn Varmegeddon - Great load

I was loading 24.8 gr of CFE under a 69 gr SMK in LC brass and lighting it with CCI primers. No pressure indications at all. The 308 was a different story. LC Brass, 48.5 gr CFE, 168 Sierra was shaking primers loose. The same load using FGMM brass gave no pressure signs. Backed it way down...

    CFE-223 & Nosler 55gn Varmegeddon - Great load

I bought three pounds last week from Gene Sears in El Reno, OK. He had a very large load of supplies come in. I plan on buying 3x 8# jugs as soon as Powder Valley gets stock in. I have thee 223 AR's and a 308 FNAR that love this stuff.

    Cfe & 308

Brass makes a huge difference in pressures on this as well (I know it always does, but what a difference). I loaded up 168 AMAX's in FGMM brass with 47.2 gr with no pressure signs at all. Dropped it to 46.8 in LC brass to work up and had a loose primer.

Forster Co Ax the right step for my knowledge/situation?

My current progressive is a Dillon 650. One of the things I truly like about it is that I have a toolhead, with a dedicated powder measure, for everything I reload. Pull two pins, slide in a new head, throw a few powder charges to verify nothing has gotten bumped or moved, and then go to town...

    Dillon XL 650

I crank out a ton of 9mm, 40 SW, 45 ACP, 223, and 308 on my 650. I do all my case trimming and everthing else there is to do to a brass case except cleaning with a 650. All load development and precision loading I do on my old Rockchucker. I can load months worth of ammo in a weekend for all...

    Which progressive press

Re: Which progressive press I bought a Dillon 650. I have bought toolheads, caliber conversion kits, items from Whidden Gunworks and Uniquetek, and who knows how many other doo-dads over the years for it that I now have way over $3k in items for it. But, it was a $600.00 investment when I...

Hunting & Fishing Tips on hog hunting ( new at this )

Re: Tips on hog hunting ( new at this ) My pig hunting rules: 1. Bring a semi-auto rifle with the biggest capacity magazine you can find (unless you have access to a full auto crew served weapon. 2. Find the biggest sow in bunch and make her dead with your first shot. 3. Do not stop...

Hunting & Fishing Who hunts with Browning Rifles?

Re: Who hunts with Browning Rifles? FNAR is a BAR action. I have one and have sold many others and the accuracy is very good. They come with a MOA guarantee and they beat that easy.
