    Scale suggestion

I am in need of a new scale, but am not looking to spend a crazy amount. I have heard very good reviews about the Hornady Model M scale, and it is very reasonably priced. Does anyone have any feedback for this scale, or another one similar in price range that is reliable?

    308 brass

I have come up with a fairly decent load using Hornady match brass, but it is not all that practical to come by. I am thinking of switching to lake city or possibly federal. When I switch, will I have to come up with a completely different load and start back from square 1? If so, how exactly...

    .308 help

Re: .308 help Yes the picture is turned sideways. I don't have the velocity down for that load. I shot this off of a lead sled so shooter error would be at a minimum. Should I try this load (43.4 g)at 200 yards and see how it shoots along with the 45 grain load? Is it normal to get that much...

    .308 help

Re: .308 help So I decided to test a few more loads, and here is what I got. the 43.4 grain load was great except for 1 flier. 3 inside a dime, and the 4th inside a quarter. Should I stick with this load, or what is yalls recommendation? Any idea what kind of velocity I can expect from a 20...

    .308 help

Re: .308 help Thanks for all of the advice. Yes the barrel was hot when I shot them, but I have shot with a hot barrel before with factory ammunition, and it still shot very well. Would that possibly make a difference with the reloads? I am using Hornady brass since I have about 200+ once...

    .308 help

Re: .308 help No they are brand new bullets. What increments should I do from 40.5 up to 42? Would that still give me decent velocity out of a 20 inch barrel? I am using lee dies

    .308 help

Re: .308 help This is the only picture I have of a shot group with the gun, but this is 2 shots at 100 yards with hornady 168 grain BTHP, so I know it can shoot well. Is it possible to get reloads this tight, or close to being this tight?

    .308 help

After doing the ladder test, I boiled it down to these 3 loads. 44.4, 44.5, and 44.6 grains of varget, with 175 grain SMK with CCI BR2 primers. COAL was 2.800. I did 6 shots with each load. The 44.4 was by far the worst, and the 44.5 and 44.6 were better, but not as good as I was hoping for. I...

308 brass wtf.. cant find any..

Re: 308 brass wtf.. cant find any.. I have about 200 rounds of Hornady once fired brass that I am going to start reloading. If I change from Hornady to Lapua or Lake City will that affect my loads once I get a good one with the Hornady? Don't mean for this thread to get off topic.

308 brass wtf.. cant find any..

Re: 308 brass wtf.. cant find any.. Is Hornady brass good for reloading compared to Lake City or any other kind? I don't hear a lot of people talking about using it.

    .308 reloading questions

Re: .308 reloading questions Thanks everyone for the help. One more question. I asked another member on here, and wanted to get some other peoples advice. Once I get a good group at 100 yards, is it safe to say that load will work well for a lot longer shots, or will I have to tweak it a bit...

Re: .308 reloading questions Thanks for the advice. From what I read I figured I would have to put a decent amount of time into getting a good load worked up. Gotta start somewhere.

    .308 reloading questions

I am new to the site, and am thinking about getting into reloading for my .308. I have an AAC SD with 1 in 10 twist and 20 inch barrel. There seems to be a whole lot of information out there on different loads/bullet weight, and I am having a hard time deciding what to go with. I have been...
