Advanced Marksmanship Shot group at 600 yds

Re: Shot group at 600 yds dar, our matches are at 600. It is a 3x600 format. Three relays of 20 shots for record alternating between shooting, pulling and marking targets in the pits, and scoring. To shoot 1000, Id have to go to Ft. Benning which is about 150 miles. I definitely want to do...

Advanced Marksmanship Shot group at 600 yds

Re: Shot group at 600 yds Yes I have shot in 4 of them. There isn't a big following here in Ga. There are at most 8 f class shooters at the matches I attend and the rest are match/palma shooters.

Advanced Marksmanship Shot group at 600 yds

Re: Shot group at 600 yds I did this the other day. This target was used by myself and a friend of mine that day for sighting in and string scoring. Later in the evening when the wind had died down, I shot 5 for group.

F T/R Competition Tight neck for f class Ftr

Does anyone use a tight neck .308 chamber in F class. Will they go 60 rounds without a cleaning or will there be cambering problems? Is it even legal under the rule of "un modified case"? I see people using no neck turn chambers for Lapua brass at .342, but haven't seen a tight neck chambered rifle.

Advanced Marksmanship When to clean the bore

Re: When to clean the bore I tried going over 80 rounds without cleaning and it just doesn't work for me. There is a marked drop off in accuracy. I don't shoot steel. It's all paper and I can tell right away.

    GAP precision chamber question

Re: GAP precision chamber question Thanks for the reply. I'm guessing that is a standard "match" chamber for .308. I have a reamer print from PTG for my barrel. It looks the same. I had a rifle re barreled with a shilen 1-10 select match and it just isn't shooting. I'm at my wits end. I've...

    GAP precision chamber question

Do GAP rifles chambered in .308 have SAAMI chambers? Tried asking this the other day in the GAP progress thread.

Gunsmithing Why not Gunsmithing for a living??

Re: Why not Gunsmithing for a living?? If I had the know how and equipment, I'd be building bullseye pistols. Those guys WAIT. It's gonna be 10-12 months for a Clark hardball. Even Les Baer takes 6 months to get you a production pistol built on their terms.

Gunsmithing Full Cure time for devcon 10110

Instructions say 75% cure (functional cure time) is achieved in 16 hours. I know this isn't a dedicated bedding compound and that it has a great many applications which leads me to wonder when it is safe to shoot after bedding. The recoil lug area is what I'm concerned about. What do you all...

    Why the 308?

Re: Why the 308? If you want to shoot palma or F/TR, you have 2 caliber choices. The .308 is one of them.
