    6x45 Bolt Gun

I'll probably do a 6BR on my BVSS-S. I still have brass & dies for that. The .17 is already all trued up, I can get to 6x45 with just a barrel.

NEW from XLR Industries **ELEMENT CHASSIS**

Sounds Great. The LOP looks like what I need - That's my Winchester O/U above an AR Carbine. Forget nose to charging handle, I'm nose to barrel nut

NEW from XLR Industries **ELEMENT CHASSIS**

That is a great lookin chassis - two questions - 1. Can the buttstock be used on an AR platform with a rifle buffer tube 2. How do you keep the stock/tube from rotating at the receiver?

    6x45 Bolt Gun

I have a .17 Remington 700 V that is begging for a 6x45 barrel - anyone know if there is a RemAge in 6x45 available anywhere? Want to shoot in a local match that requires bolt/6MM min. but only shoots to 550. Sounds perfect for that, and I'm kinda done with the .17 Remington for varmints.

    New in Northern CA

Hello - joined up as I have become more interested in the disciplines involved in tactical rifle. Making first round hits at long range sounds like fun, I'd like to learn more about doping the wind, range estimation, etc.. Most of my rifle shooting has been with varmint rifles - .17AH, .17...

LAR OPS4 Left side charger on a SP223 - would the LAR bolt release work?

The LAR OPS4 left side charging upper requires a bolt release w/o the upper release tab. I'd like to use a SP223 lower to gain the right side release, among other features. The LAR has a modified bolt release with it, but I can't seem to find any info on the Seekins side of things. Does...

Single shot for tactical match beginner?

Thanks for the info. I liked the single shot for varmint hunting fine as I could get loaded fairly quickly but do not have to unload an internal magazine when moving positions. I certainly understand why unloading an internal mag is an issue. Hate that. Big question is would it would stupid to...

Single shot for tactical match beginner?

Rob, I find your replies fairly rude considering this its the STUPID markmanship forum. Are you interested in increasing participation in the sport or keeping out the riff-raff?

Single shot for tactical match beginner?

I have a Savage BVSS-S .22-250 that has been my go-to varmint gun for some time, but don't use much these days. Also have 6BR brass, bullets & precision dies from an old project. How big of a disadvantage is it for a newbie at tactical rifle to go single shot? I'm sure that I would upgrade if...

Spotting - line of sight of spotter vs shooter

For a varmint hunter, spotting usually means finding a target, the shooter corrects after that. Someone at the same shooting table or even close can tell you to go out to the edge of the field, move left to the fencepost with the yellow sign and come in till you see it. What I have noticed is...

    Sfp vs Ffp

I have been trying to figure out the same thing - FFP has a high cool factor but other than ranging at variable magnification I couldn't find the benefits that justfied the cost. FWIW I am more of an old-school bolt-guy varmint hunter getting in to precision semi-auto. The one thing I read that...
