    Will this work?

The Forster bullet seat die is designed with an internal tight tolerance guide that keeps the bullet in axial alignment with the case during seating. The ability to hold tight axial alignment is what keeps runout to a minimum. I guess you could use the 6mm in the 30 cal die but it certainly...

    Lee collet die

Unlikely the Lee die will correct the runout. It will only downsize the neck against the mandrel and there is no forcing mechanism to "correct" misalignment of the neck to the body of the case.

    Bench mounted priming tool

I'm old school with the bench mounted primer tools. The older RCBS single prime tool is my go-to method of priming. I have hand-held dohickeys and press tools too but this is my favorite way to prime. Great tactile feel too. You can see them in the pic, I have one set up for both large and...

    Lee collet die

From what others say on this forum about a Co-Ax press it should automatically remedy any and all reloading problems ... and ... cure cancer, solve world hunger and negate all the bad juju from Obamacare. If you are getting that much runout it sounds as though something is not set up properly...

New press turned .5MOA gun into 2MOA gun?

That's a good question, I've never seen any data from controlled tests that relate a specific amount of runout to a specific loss in accuracy. We all know it's not good but what are the specific effects? Probably too many variables to ever know. To the OP, did you verify seating depth is the...

New press turned .5MOA gun into 2MOA gun?

jimB and biged had good inputs, yes, there is an alignment procedure for the press. It makes high quality ammo. Lee did a great job on both the Classic Cast and the Classic Turret. I'm not a fan of their Classic bushing press. Listening to the press snobs makes me giggle because I outshoot...

Need some help picking a press

I load 7mm Rem Mag, 25-06, 45-70, 223 Rem, 221 Fireball and 40 S&W on mine. More than enough umph to size large cases. There is some truth to the swageing comment if you are using the RCBS swage kit. The plastic doohickey used to guide the auto index rod will prevent use of the tool. I also...

Having owned and used both of the two you mention the Lee is the better choice.

    Primmer pocket prep

rsplante gets a star on his refrigerator door for most creative graphics - nice job. I swage but use the RCBS press tool. Works great, RCBS even sent me a second larger cup that works with my Lee press that has a larger diameter ram. I got the tool for free, RCBS refurbished it for free and...

Lee Classic Cast - standard or Breech Lock?

Both the Hornady Die Bushings and the Lee Breech Lock are a solution for a not existant problem. Get the standard Lee Classic Cast or the Lee Classic Turret and feel good about the fact you were directed to a smart purchase by experienced people. I went the Hornady route and was sorely...

    Best varmint rifle from factory?

I went the route of the Kimber Longmaster Classic in 223 with the 24" barrel. This is it with a 10X variable scope. I'v since switched out the scope for a Zeiss Conquest 4-14. It loves 40 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips and 63 grain Sierra Semi Spitzers and anyting heavier. It has a 1:9 twist...

    Which dies for least runout?

Forgot to add, I use the Forster Concentricity Gage. It works really well on large cases but tiny ones like my 221 Fireball it's a pain to use.

    Which dies for least runout?

Low runout is more a function of technique and paying attention to detail than die selection. A runout gage used at each process step will tell you where you need to change dies. That being said, I like the Forster seat dies best. I do what you stated with my 25-06 ... Lee Collect Neck Die...

Are .50 Cal cases from WWII still reloadable?

Why do you think they would not be loadable? Are they made of brass? Clear the crimp in the primer pocket and load em up.
