    OCW, next step?

How far away was your target for the OCW test? If you are not at least 200 yards out it is hard to tell anything from the resluts, 300 yards is better. What you want to look for is the smallest vertical dispersion. Don't get hung up on windage. Your initial increments of .9 grains is too...

Resizing 300 win mag... how much lube?

Don't overlook the fact resizing the 300 requires an attitude that you mean to do it. Lube it and lean on the press lever. Imperial is great stuff and works well on any resizing job.

    20 VARTARG brass from 223?

This is something I put together reforming 223 to 221 Firaball. It may help answer some questions. I finally got around to it - 223 to 221 Fireball (pic heavy) - Shooters Forum

    One powder for .25-06?

I found RL-22 to be somewhat temperature sensitive. My end-all solves-all load for the 25-06 is the Nosler 115 grain ballistic tip over a full case of Hodgdon Retumbo powder using Winchester magnum primers. My gun is a Ruger #1V if that makes a difference.

    Turret Presses

There is nothing cheap or chinsy about the Lee Classic Turret press. It is one of the best presses on the market today. The Lee ring capture design is radically different from the center post design used by Redding. Both are good presses but for someone to say the Lee design/prduct is...

REDDING T-7 MOUNTED ON Dillon Strong mount whos got this setup?

I used Dillon Strong Mounts with my Lee Classic Turret. Great combo. I simply made a plate that matched the holes to the press and the mounts.

    Temp. Sensitive powders

I don't have any field "data" but I switched to the Hodgdon Extreme Powders years ago because I experienced over-pressure on rounds whose loads were developed in cold weather and used in hot weather. Never want to go through that again. Since I switched I've not had any problems. What...

    Reloading for 300 Win Mag

Nothing special about reloading belted cases but mine seemed to work-harden more quickly than others. You will need to anneal them after a couple of firings. H-1000 never worked for me, I had much better success/accuracy with Retumbo. Magnum primers are important with that big powder column...

    Confused and need some input

Get a small piece of aluminum foil. Fold it into 3 layers and slip it under the shell holder between the shell holder and the top of the ram on the press. Use the FL resizing die and resize the cases. If that does not provide enough clearance for bolt closure put another fold or two of the...

    Any experience reloading PPU brass??

I've reloaded 223 and also use it to form 221 Fireball from 223. Good stuff.

Sort of a reloading question; Paint for reloading bench?

I built my reloading bench a few years back and was struggling with the same issue. I ended up using floor and stair paint. The stuff dried like concrete and looks fantastic. I used an entire gallon on this bench.

    Pissed at Hornady.........Maybe!

I quit buying Hornady products years ago. I pointed out several quality issues to them with their equipment and bullets and the response was essentially - go pound sand. Thank you very much Hornady Customer Service, I quit buying their products and purged everything Hornady from my reloading...

    Reloading article on NPR

Interesting thread. I saw this article and sent a note to the author. I corrected his mistakes and told him while his article is on target he came across as a real dummy not knowing the difference between a bullet and ammo. I further explaind to him the political influence as to why there is...

    Hot barrel effect on fps?

Your readings are exactly what I would expect from barrel heating. This is a classic physics problem. You know metal expands as it gets hotter. What happens to a pipe (rifle barrel)? Does the ID of the pipe get smaller or larger. Intuitively you might think it gets smaller but it actually...

    Hornady "Suspend" List

I've had quality problems with Hornady bullets in the past and gave up on them several years ago. Still, if I used Hornady products I'd be as disappointed as others. Nosler and Sierra have been consistently good to me and I will stay with them.

Temp stable powder for COLD weather

Take a look at the Hodgdon Extreme powders. They are formulted to be immune to temperature variations. In the 300 WM I had really good success with Retumbo and 200 grain bullets.

    Removing Expander Ball

like one of the others said ... if you are using a bushig die you do not need an expander. if it is a regular sizing die, did you consider honing the neck portion of the die to give you the exact neck dimension you want? either of these two approaches will require you turn the necks to be...
