Re: Altitude Speed Of Sound Chart?
If speed of sound is affected only by air, the yes altitude does come into play. In different altitudes the air has different densities and properties.

Re: How many cycles on your .308 Lapua Brass
Are you full length resizing or only neck sizing. I just recently bought some and im only neck sizing. Ill be running 44.5 or 45gr of varget through mine. I dont know how long my cases will hold up. Hopefully a while, they weren't cheap lol

Re: 1/4 MOA
Good shooting. My gun likes the hornady Amax's too. They shoot as good or the same as the sierra hpbt's and where I live are about $15 cheaper. For some reason the sierra's spiked up to like $45 for a box of 100 168gr HPBT tips while I can get the hornady's for around $29. But yea...
I was wanting a good range log but didn't feel like shucking out the cash for one. I then decided, hey I might as well put a college education to use and make one lol. I opened up microsoft excel and went to work. This was what I came up with in about an hour of work. PM for questions. Thanks.
Re: Do these numbers sound about right? 178gr A-Max
Its hard to say its "correct" seeing as these numbers vary with each rifle, but you are in the ball park. I get lower numbers because of my 26" tube so its taking me a little more to get in the 2650's and 2700's but you seem to be doing...
Re: 45.8 Varget in a 308 w/ 175 SMK
I have a remington 700 sps-v with a 26" tube 1:12 twist. A load that worked well for me was 45.5gr of varget with 168gr HPBT SMK's at about 2750fps. Im currently working up a load for my 178gr hornady A-max. Im up to 44gr and 44.5 gr with lapua brass fed210...
Re: Which Ballistic Calculator Is Correct ??
I definitely like JBM. My problem is not always having a computer. If you have an Iphone I bought a ballistic calculator that uses the JBM calculator. The name is just simply "Ballistic" and it will say JBM on it. This is well worth the money. It...
Re: Vortex Viper vs. Leupold Er/t
Just went and looked at the vortex. They seem pretty good but i'm not a big fan of illuminated reticles. I have a cheap $150 Osprey Scope right now that has illuminated reticule and ive literally never used it. I do like how the vortex has a zero stop, thats...
Re: Vortex Viper vs. Leupold Er/t
Dont know much about the Vortex but I'm in the process of trying to find a way to get my hands on the Mark 4 8.5-25x50mm ER/T M5 Front Focal optic. I have a trijicon acog im wanting to sell to get money to put towards it but i dont have enough post to put it...
Im fairly new to reloading, a little over a year, and ive been through major phases. Ive researched and looked at so many different loads. I started out with 168gr HPBT SMK and 45.5gr of Varget powder. Which did shoot well and shot great groups. Then my local gun dealer suggested Hornady 168gr...
Re: Egg at 1000 yards
Spit volume, time, a lot of practice, with no doubt great shooting capabilities at an egg 1000yds away and yea you will probably learn to actually hit it. What I am most impressed with is his capability to see the egg.
Re: Help with a Remington 700 sps Tac or Varmint
I bought the Remington SPS-V because it was cheaper. Eventually I replaced both stock and trigger. I bought the Bell and Carlson Tactical-A5 stock because it was a lot cheaper then the A5 from McMillan. I replaced the trigger with a Timney...
Re: which aimpoint do you think best for cqb?
I prefer the Aimpoint CompM4 over all red dot optics. I have a friend who owns an EoTech and I'm just not a fan. The outer circle is distracting to me, the optic seems just too bulky, and battery life isn't as efficient. I have the 2moa model and...
