Lol you and I both know the truth. Just because you post on the interwebs doesn't make it true. I'll take that apology now Nexusfire. Thanks.

    Impact Precision Actions

Mcmillan did a great job on their Inlet for the Impact. They graciously made one tweak to the tang area at my request after a few stocks had been built. Even the earliest ones fit very well, though.

    Surgeon Action

I had planned on hunting with a long action Impact this fall but it wasn't to be. I even have a .300 PRC barrrel chambered for when we can make them. I would not consider what we are doing catering to the PRS crowd. Due to our involvement in the PRS type shooting most of the first builders to...

    Surgeon Action

It's not that anything is missing. Surgeons have excellent features. I still have some in my personal collection. Below are some key features of the Impact action. 1. Impact receivers are held individually to a tolerance that allows properly headspaced, indexed barrels to be built without an...

    Surgeon Action

Boy, you're sinking deeper. Now you accuse the most respected individual in the long range community of horseshit and fuckery because he was there and knows. What is next? Call Preston a liar too? I know your timeline of involvement, and what you think you know from third hand info. In...

    Defiance or curtis action choice

The trigger hanger is not like the tempest hanger. As Midwestside mentioned it is a more conventional, 2 screw hanger with incremental timing hangers. I do not use loctite on these screws on our builds. The clearance holes in the hanger are tight and lugs in the receiver keep any force from...

    Defiance or curtis action choice

A few in no particular order: 1. Better primary extraction geometry 2. Interrupted bolt fluting to prevent contact with mag lips (if resting on the magazine and in a chassis that allows it) 3. Headspace and index tolerance held on bolt and receiver to allow interchangeable barrels even when...

    Defiance or curtis action choice

You have no idea what you are talking about. Wade was a friend of one of the original guys that helped Preston Pritchett when Preston started Surgeon. Wade was hired as a customer service rep and quit after he left a path of destruction. So if Wade told you he helped develop that product in any...

    Surgeon Is Taking Action Orders

A quick look through my current bolt action build list shows Defiance, Bat, Surgeon, Xtreme, Badger, Bighorn, Stiller, Lawton, Remington, FN, Sako, AI, and Mcmillan actions in no particular order. They are all good actions. They all have strong points. Addressing any weak points is part of...

Gunsmithing Removing 0.100" plate out of AI magazine.

As the cartridges are pushed down and begin to stagger they would no longer be in line with such a groove. This same staggered orientation allows the spot welds to be drilled out and cleaned up without needing to be filled in to ensure proper function. The bullet points will not contact the holes.

Sniper’s Hide Cup 2014 Sniper's Hide Cup: Results, Updates, ETC?

The dope was good on the mile shot when my squad was on E. My shots and the few shooters I spotted for after cut a centered, horizontal line in the tricky winds. I shot in a pick-up from about 2.8-4.0 mils and never got in front of it.

Rifles Only FTW Sling! Update New Video/8-22-14

This is an awesome sling. I had a chance to run one early on and those of you who question the bungee should try one first. I didn't know about it either until I tried it. Mine will have the bungee section. It makes adjustments faster for me because I have tension over a greater adjustment...

    Remington RACS worth the price??

My vote would be for the AIAX. I have been running a right fold version for a few months and like it a lot more than the RACS.

Rifle Scopes Acquiring a Nightforce Beast

I just received a Mil/Mil for T&E last night and mounted it this morning. From our quick testing the glass is the best of any scope we have mounted at the shop right now.

Rifle Scopes Any news on the S&B 5-20x50 ultra short?

I end up using the mil marks for windage as you would an H59 rather than the tremor wind dots. The way I do wind math works best for me with mil holds. The new one I have on order is an H2cmr.

Rifle Scopes Any news on the S&B 5-20x50 ultra short?

I am running one of the pre-production single turn models. It has 17 mils in the single turn, very low pro locking elev., and a capped windage turret. It is a really nice scope. It is hard to believe that it is as small as it is. It is mounted on a Spuhr 6 mil mount on a 591 so it has over...
